With a French villa holiday, you can enjoy the peace and quiet of your own private accommodation, but also explore the vibrant resorts, quaint towns and fascinating regions of France.
Treat yourself to a villa holiday in the Côte D’Azur, and relish the Mediterranean climate as you dip into your private pool for a refreshing swim, or sunbathe in your villa’s garden.
Self-catering in France is as easy as it is a pleasure, and you can create tasty family meals from the delicacies you’ll find at the local markets; not to mention the freshly made baguettes and croissants from a local bakery.
There are many beautiful villas to rent in France, making for an idyllic setting from which to enjoy this wonderful destination and all it has to offer.
France is a fantastically vast, beautiful and varied country. Our villas are located in Southern France, in the Côte D’Azur and Provence areas of the country. Côte D’Azur is a favourite destination for many holidaymakers because of the beautiful beaches of Antibes and the delicious, freshly caught fish they can enjoy at Cagnes-sur-Mer’s harbour-side restaurants.
In the Provence region of France, wander the vast fields of lavender and yellow rapeseed flowers, taking in the wonderful smells. Sample the local Provençal cuisine, dining on bowls of warming ratatouille and sweet, crispy pastry desserts as you take in the captivating culture of Van Gogh’s favourite city, Arles, and the rich history of Avignon.
The best time to visit France depends on the region you’ll be visiting, but in general the climate is similar to that of the UK. In the south of France you’ll experience a much warmer, Mediterranean climate with sun-drenched summers and mild winters. The best time of the year to go would be between April and September, when you’ll be able to enjoy the beaches of Antibes and Nice.
If you’re an admirer of art, then you’ll love St Tropez. Many painters were inspired by this beautiful town, specifically Paul Signac who was followed by many other great artists, including Henri Matisse. Visit the town’s Le Musee de L’Annonciade where you’ll get the chance to gaze at the gallery’s collection of paintings, including great examples of Fauvism and Post-Impressionism.
The food of Provence can arguably be the sole reason for choosing a French villa holiday in the south of France, from a bowl of delicious, fresh Bouillabaisse fish stew, to refreshing Soupe au Pistou with freshly baked baguettes - a great summer-time lunch. If you’re cooking back at your villa, take a morning trip to Antibes to take advantage of the Marché Provençal. This wonderful market is open every morning between June and August selling fresh fruit and vegetables, locally caught fish and beautiful bouquets of flowers.
