When your legs tire, there are two ways for you to take a load off your feet. Cruise across Plitvice's Lake Kozjak on the electric boat, taking in its beauty from a different perspective. If you'd prefer to stay on dry land, hop on Plitvice's train at one of three stops.
A lakeside lunch is an absolute must! And your villa's kitchen is the perfect place to prepare the mother of all picnics to be enjoyed at the water's edge. Or eat at one of the cafés situated just perfectly to take advantage of the views.

When you think of ancient temples and amphitheatres, a small city in the South of France probably doesn't spring to mind. But Nîmes has some of the world's best preserved Roman architecture – even rivalling Rome itself. Under two hours from some of our Provence villas, the drive will take you past ruins and churches of times gone by. History buffs might want to get closer, so the pedestrianised city centre is ideal for a day of exploration. It's a perfect excuse to get out the car and stretch your legs. For historical enthusiasts, here you'll find the only completely intact Roman temple in the world, La Maison Carrée. You'll also find the Arenes de Nîmes which is just as impressive as Rome's Colosseum. This near intact amphitheatre holds concerts throughout the year as well as opening its doors to those wanting to stand where brave gladiators once fought.
Choux pastry, whipped cream and chocolate sauce, a combination to satisfy any sweet tooth. Hopefully we've got your attention! Unless you're now lost in a sugary daydream, salivating at the thought. Sink your teeth into Gibraltar's favourite treat – profiteroles. The taste alone is well worth the drive from your villa on the Costa del Sol. But there's more. At Gibraltar Rock you'll meet the cheeky Barbary macaques, the only free-roaming monkeys in Europe. Watch them in their surroundings at Apes' Den. From here you can visit the Moorish Castle or the Great Siege Tunnels for more traditional sightseeing. Or stay on the wild side and take a boat trip to catch a glimpse of dolphins swimming alongside. At just 2.6 square miles, this tiny British territory may be small but it has no shortage of things to do. Even the drive home brings its own excitement. The four lane main road in and out of Gibraltar runs right across the runway at the International Airport. The road closes and quickly reopens while planes take off right next to you! Re-start your engine, cruise over the runway, and take in the beautiful costal road views all the way home to your villa.
