- Great location, views and amenities, short walk to the shopping centre Bisofera with a Spar food shop for self-catering shopping, cinema and mini golf. When you come out of the villa there is an entrance at the back of Bisofera to avoid the steep pavement slopes. The best shops and restaurant are diagonal to the left as you come out of Bisofera that leads to the sandy beach; it is roughly a 15-minute walk.
Arcelia villa room sizes and decor was great but we couldn’t sit of the two lump sofas even after trying the puff up the seat cushions, which needs a vax wash. The Dvd couldn’t be used as it has the wrong wire to TV connection, you can use the Xbox to play your Dvds, and the 2 Xbox games available are for 18 year olds. The villa has towels and all electrics, but we didn’t find a kettle. One of the bedroom doors scraps on the floor, cockroaches can come under a gap by the patio door and the kitchen insect blind didn’t work. We went mid August 2017 and the small pool is an icy temperature.
On Friday we saw a market with lots of stalls (directions: from the villa when you walk down the steep slope, turn right and walk towards the harbour where boat repairs take place. (Roughly a 15 minute walk).
Sight seeing: A must experience is the camel ride - wine tasting - volcano trip, very good at 25 Euros per person. You can pick up a number 3 bus to Arrecife (the capital) for 5 euros 10 cent I think it was, for 2 adults and a child. The bus stop is to the right of Bisofera on the opposite side of the road. But the area has a lack of signs and information to help you find interesting sights to see. We saw a sightseeing mini train on the road but couldn’t find out where to get it.
Exiting the villa 10am and flights in the evening is a long time to be out in the heat, you can by arrangement take your suitcase to Club Pocillos which has 2 toilets, a tiny pool, coke vending machine and a small seating area that you can use. When you come out of Club Pocillos to the left roughly a 5 minute walk there are a couple of places to eat, bike hire, a souvenir shop and a game shop (arcade). If you walk to the right it is a very long walk back to the main shopping area by the sandy beach and a crazy golf area.
