Occupying a fabulous sea front location, Villa Vellamo enjoys superb views over the exclusive Puerto Calero marina and out over the sapphire sea beyond. Ideal for families with older children or friends holidaying together, this stylish, spacious property is superbly appointed. Its flexible accommodation even includes a self-contained luxury apartment.
“If you ask me, you really couldn't find a better positioned villa on the island of Lanzarote. The views of the marina are second to none and the best bit is you are only steps away from a collection of fantastic shops, restaurants and bars. There was no doubt in my mind that this villa should be part of our Individual collection, although if it had air conditioning in the bedrooms it would probably be a great choice for our Luxury collection too! ”

My wife and I have now visited this villa 5 times. The overall standard of the villa is very good with plenty of space and a good quality finish. All the bedrooms are very spacious and the lovely master bedroom has stunning far reaching views and it's own private sun bathing area. The main selling point are the outstanding views overlooking the harbour and boatyard with far reaching views to Puerto del Carmen to the east and the nearby island of fuerteventura to the south west. The pool area is very spacious and in a good condition. The pool itself is a reasonable size and heated, although, this would not feel warm on a very warm day. The shallowest end is 1.5 meters so I would bear this in mind when bringing younger children. The sun beds are numerous and functional, a few of them could do with replacing, as could the outside cushions in the seating area. The villa feels very secure and if anything goes wrong Juergen is on hand in the villa behind Vellamo, his presence also adds to the secure feel. The only real issue is the new presence of a business that has setup nearby called "Buggies Lanzarote". There is a lot of noise when the buggies set off and return and in the early evening, they tend to do some repair work and cleaning of the buggies which is often accompanied with extremely loud and foul language. There is talk that this business may be moved or stopped but it would be worth James Villas checking this out.

Excellent Villa, in a great location near the harbour and shops. Window locks and door locks could be improved for safety and ease of closing.

The villa itself is huge with a rather interesting layout. The villa facilities are excellent and very clean. Great beds and blackout blinds were a nice surprise. The bathrooms in particular have been upgraded since the web-site photos were taken. The villa is in a good location, disappointingly however there is a an off-road 4 wheel buggy tour location close by which proved noisy in the mornings, before their depart. All in all we enjoyed our time. Just to warn any other guests, we were given an incorrect key safe code. Luckily when we arrived Jurgen, who looks after the garden was around and made a call to get the correct one. So if you receive a code of 2721 do not believe it.

The villa had a great location just a couple of minutes from the main restaurants and sea front - beware though as it is up a steep hill so some less mobile people may struggle.
The main parts of the villa were cleaned to a good standard but the outdoor areas needed a hosing down as they were quite dirty.
The pool and outside area were really nice but we did pay for the pool to be heated and it wasn't and subsequently it was too cold for our toddler.
All in all its a really nice villa in a great location but after staying at other James Villas this one was not quite up to the same standard. It was just the little things like the kitchen tap kept falling over (obvioulsy loosened so you could open the window), missing facias from the kitchen and the fact that the AC went off after 3 hours and needed resetting - just what you need in the middle of the night!
