Attraction parks

The Lanzarote Aquarium is the perfect day out for families, located in the resort centre of Costa Teguise and is open all year round. This wonderful aquarium is the largest in the Canary Islands and showcases hundreds of marine species, including tropical fish, sharks, clown fish, fire dragons and hermit crabs.

Water Parks

With a large number of pools and slides to enjoy why not spend a day at Costa Teguise's well-known Aquapark. Additionally the park features a restaurant, an adventure park and paintballing area.

Museums

The Casa Museo del Campesino is a museum situated in the geographical centre of Lanzarote. Featuring a monument by Cesar Manrique, inside are a number of tools and objects related to the islands culture and agriculture. A gift shop and restaurant are also available.

National parks

The Timanfaya National Park is a must see when holidaying on the island. Declared a national park back in 1968, this site was once host to more than 100 volcanoes. The restaurant in the park serves traditional Canarian food that’s cooked using a cast-iron grill placed over a large hole in the ground. There is also the option to take a camel ride across the volcanic landscape.

Other Places of interest

The Go-Karting track located in San Bartolome is an amazing track for go-karting enthusiasts and offers a bar and spectating area. The track is built into the hillside and has great views, it’s also open all year round and transportation is available from most resorts.

30 May 2017 to 30 May 2017 - Canarian Day

May 30th marks the date when the Canaries first gained autonomy from Spain, back in 1983. And now it’s an annual holiday across all of the seven islands in the archipelago. The fiesta is a celebration of Canarian culture and events are held across the island. School kids don traditional dress, tuck into local dishes and dance to folklore music. The Canarian flag (white, blue and yellow) flies everywhere and the Cabildo organises fishing, Canarian wrestling and game hunting competitions.

15 Aug 2017 to 25 Aug 2017 - Fiesta de San Gines

This major fiesta is in honour of Arrecife's patron saint San Gines. During the daytime much of the activity is concentrated around the El Charco area itself, where traditional island sports such as Canarian sailing and wrestling are celebrated and a new Miss Lanzarote is elected annually. The whole event then culminates in an impressive and extremely well attended fireworks display on the main beach promenade next to the Arrecife Gran Hotel on the night of the 25th, usually starting at around 23.30 hrs.
