- This was our third stay at Casa Juan over the last few years. The property was found to be in clean and serviceable condition for the most part, although the beds were a little firm. Provision of kitchen knives and BBQ implements could be improved; this was minimal. It was good to see that the TV had been renewed since our last visit (although absolutely nothing worth watching - not that we wanted to!), and that the wi-fi had improved.
Casa Juan is vulnerable to noise from nearby properties as we have found before. On this occasion we could clearly hear Bingo sessions and 'organised fun' sounds (Karaoke?
Disco?) emanating from a nearby hotel which impaired our enjoyment of the outside some evenings. (In our previous visit the outside was impaired by a dog barking incessantly in a neighbouring villa.)
Disappointing to note that, whilst the villa clearly has a roof terrace, access to this is still barred (we were told on Health and Safety grounds)! Why, oh why don't the owners invest in the property and erect a better balustrade, then visitors could enjoy this feature?!
One of the pool light fixtures was hanging off under water. I reported this to the rep and enquired whether it presented a safety hazard. We were assurred that it was safe because the lights had been disconnected; nonetheless it remained in this condition throughout our stay. That said, we have yet to stay in a villa anywhere where the pool lights actually DO work!!
