La Patronalocal event
Culminating on the 2nd August with the Fiesta of Mare de Deu dels Angels, the biggest and most anticipated fiestas of the North of Mallorca involve a week long party of Jazz concerts, traditional dancing, feasting, wine and more wine in honour of the patron saint of the town. Most events take place in the municipal centre, Pollensa but there are also local events in Cala San Vicente and Puerto Pollensa. The highlight of the week is the annual battle of the "moros y cristianos" - the Moors Versus the Christians - held on the evening of the 2nd and pre empting a hugely impressive (and no doubt expensive) fireworks display.
