Cala d’Or is both chic and family-friendly. From fishing boats and family beaches to water sports and golf, this group of unique and pretty little coves, known as ‘calas’, cater to every taste. Glass-bottomed boats sail up and down the shoreline, between the different coves, and stop off for you to choose your beach for the day. Some coves offer beach bars and waterfront facilities, while others - like Cala Mondrago - offer a more peaceful nature reserve. A marina lies at the heart of the resort, attracting a fashionable yachting crowd with stylish Mediterranean eateries and a laidback tempo. Here, you can sip Cava and dine in style on a terrace overlooking the moored yachts. Walking from our villas, you can reach different beaches, shops and bars within the Cala d’Or resort, whilst a short drive will enable you to visit other beautiful deserted coves that stretch along the coastline.

As with most busy resorts in Mallorca there is a wide variety of pavement cafes and tapas bars. Try the local fish or tapas in the centre or find a local roadside restaurant (look for local cars and taxis parked outside to experience the food the locals eat) and try the Pimientos de Padron (fried green peppers - sometimes you'll find a hot one..) and a leg or shoulder of lamb for mains. If you like Rioja wines, try a local red from Binisalem and taste how far the Mallorcans have advanced in wine production!
Cala d'Or's nightlife is mainly concentrated in the busy, paved and traffic free centre with a great number of restaurants, both local and international, spilling out onto the pavements. There are music, sport and karaoke bars as well as late night dance bars and cocktail lounges and the atmosphere ranges from chilled and cosy to lively and loud.

There are several vineyards in Mallorca with the majority around the town of Binisalem, south of Inca.
Closest to the south east are Miguel Oliver in Petra, Vi d'auba in Felanitx and Pere Seda - Manacor.
Head for the Marina for a choice of boat trips around this beautiful coastline. You can also rent a boat, with or without a skipper, and try some snorkelling.
There are many Island cruises from the ports of Alcudia and Porto Cristo whilst cruise ships regularly call at the port of Palma de Mallorca.
The golf Open Seniors will be played in May at Pula Golf - Son Servera near Manacor. This is just a half hours drive from Cala d'Or.
Head south to the Mondrago Natural Park, an area of outstanding beauty protected against development and boasting two wonderful beaches - Cala Mondrago and S'Amarador - where you will find soft, white natural sand and turquoise waters.
Cala d'Or does not have an old town as such but its just a short drive to Santanyi or Felantitx which both have historical centres and cultural attractions.
