Newcastle upon Tyne Couple
- Arrived earlier than the check in time of 4.00 pm but everything was ready so we were able to move in. We had ordered a welcome pack which was there but wouldn't bother again as we thought it was poor value for money.
Loved the Villa itself and its furnishings and fittings. It's a bit of a hike from Alcudia Old Town and even further from the Port area so, if you don't fancy a half hour walk (45 minutes for the port) along mostly dark lanes, you need to get a taxi. This was clearly pointed out in the brochure though so that's fair enough. Great restaurants and bars at both.
We had a couple of problems. The first was during a very heavy rain and thunder storm that lasted about half a day. The roof over the kitchen leaked, partly onto the floor and partly onto some electrical wiring on top of a kitchen cupboard. We did report that to the rep so presumably it,ll get attended to. Continuous sunshine thereafter so no more problems.
The second issue was with the dishwasher. I couldn't get it to work so reported that too. The Villa owner, Julian, was round within the hour and fixed what turned out to be a minor issue. Very impressed and such a nice guy. He called again a few hours later to ensure it was still ok and brought us a very nice bottle of wine.
We never did manage to get the satellite TV working but, to be honest, we were glad to escape all of the General Election nonsense so didn't bother chasing that up. Air con was a boon given temperatures in the high thirties every day.
All in all, a very good holiday.
