San Agustin - Excursions and Places of interest
Information updated 14 Apr 2014
Established in 1997, Can Rich Buscatell winery and wine growing estate use ecological farming techniques along with modern and traditional methods to create Ibicencan wine. The estate is located a short drive away, just outside of San Antonio.
From San Antonio bay, just a short drive down the hill, you can hop aboard one of the many ferries, boat trips and excursions that sail around the island. Make a trip to Es Vedra, Portinatx, Formentera, San Miguel and Margaritas, all of which can be booked at the marina.
Natural areas of beauty
Completely unscathed by modern tourism, San Agustin is the perfect place to take an afternoon stroll along the meandering roads, and up to the hilltop where the church is situated. From here you will enjoy spectacular views across the rolling countryside and to the bay of San Antonio, out to sea.
Air Zone is an unusual attraction park, where you can roll around in inflatable orbs, often known as 'zorbing'.
A 30 minute drive to the other side of the island will take you to Aguamar in Playa den Bossa, the islands family fun waterpark with over 7 sets of slides and a picnic area.
Regions to visit
Being a small island means everything can be reached by bus or car quickly and easily. Don't forget to explore the main hubs of the island; Ibiza town, San Antonio and Santa Eulalia, and maybe buy a souvenir from the hippy market at Es Canar.
The old town
The small and sleepy hilltop village is very traditional and benefits from just two local cafes, a tobacconist and mini-market.
Churches / Cathedrals
Open only during mass, the simple church of San Agustin, built in the 1800s, sits on the hilltop amongst carob trees.
