Guadalmina is a classy residential urbanisation situated just west of San Pedro de Alcantara, which is renowned for its lush green surroundings. Split into two areas, there is Guadalmina ‘Baja’ which is the lower part of the urbanisation located closer to the beach and Guadalmina ‘Alta’ which is the area located between the main road and the mountains. Guadalmina is well-known for its central area which hosts many great shops, bars, restaurants and a supermarket, whilst the excellent Guadalmina Golf course is also close by.

Completely taken over by charming Spanish culture in Guadalmina resort, enjoy tasting all the treats of Spain with the traditional tapas bars, paella specialties and meat and fish restaurants. If you decide to dine in a nearby area, San Pedro de Alcantara is full of a charming street of tapas bars, great for picking up the local cuisines.
The commercial centre and urbanisation of Guadalmina have a very good selection of restaurants to choose from, if you wanted a slightly wider selection and more lively nightlife you are nearby the resorts centres of San Pedro, Marbella and Estepona.
Parque de las Medranas
Located in the upper part of Guadalmina, the park encompasses a pretty natural lake where you can enjoy not only waterskiing but also cable skiing, wakeboarding and kneeboarding for children and adults. There’s a swimming pool, tapas restaurant and terrace overlooking the lake so you can watch the fun from the sidelines should you prefer.
Selwo Aventura, Estepona
A superb zoological park, Selwo Aventura takes visitors on a journey through the wilds of Africa, where lions, giraffes, hippos, rhinos, hyenas, cheetahs and antelopes are just some of the animals you’ll see. There are also Meet the Keeper sessions, educational talks, spectacular hanging bridges to walk across, dromedary rides, high jumping, zipwires and archery to keep you busy. The park is open approximately nine months of the year with a break in the winter and is around 15 minutes’ drive from Guadalmina.
San Pedro de Alcantara
Guadalmina’s close neighbour is the lovely town of San Pedro de Alcantara, its newer developments built on the coastal side of the main road and the old quarter on the interior side. Make your way through the cobbled old streets and discover tiny boutiques and tapas bars or stroll along the modern promenade, lined with palm trees and beach-front restaurants.
Just a 15 minute drive from Guadalmina is Benahavis, a mountain village 7 kms from the coast that’s renowned for its superb restaurants and magnificent views both of the mountains and along the coast. From its spectacular mountain location it’s easy to see why Benahavis’s 11th century Monte Mayor castle was once a vital strategic base during the battles between Arab kings in Andalusia ? on a clear day you can see over 100 kms along the coastline.
Just a five minute drive from Guadalmina, the glamourous marina at Puerto Banus hosts a stunning collection of luxury superyachts, some resident here and others just visiting. Known as one of the world’s most popular playgrounds to the rich and famous, it’s naturally a paradise for people-watching, whether or not you join the party. There’s no shortage of trendy bars and restaurants to choose from around the marina and plenty of designer boutiques to satisfy even the most discerning of fashionistas.
