Only few kilometres on from the beautiful hilltop medieval village of Pals, with cobbled streets, shops and cafés, overlooking the coast, is its sister beach area Playa de Pals. Home to one of the most attractive two mile long sandy beaches of the Costa Brava, surrounded by pine trees,- common scenery in this area, the serene beach has many cafes, bars and beachside restaurants in which to relax. Two renowned golf courses can also be found here for the keen golfer. Its central location in the Costa Brava makes it ideal for exploring many of the surrounding areas and attractions.

The nightlife in Playa de Pals is very relaxed, with a scattering of local bars and taverns providing a friendly atmosphere. For a livelier nightlife, the nearby hilltop town of Pals offers a choice of bars favoured by both the holiday makers and locals.
Located 20 minutes north of Playa de Pals, just a mile off the coast of Estartit beach, the Medes Islands archipelago is a great place to visit during your stay. Known as one of the most important marine flora and fauna reserves in the western Mediterranean, it’s a very popular place for scuba diving, snorkling and bird watching. Regular boat trips (many of which are glass bottomed) start from Estartit harbour to take you on a round tip of the islands.
One of the main attractions on the Costa Brava is the vast choice of beautiful sandy beaches. Playa de Pals, within a ten minute drive, offers a wonderful stretch of unspoilt golden sand. For those looking to explore, up and down the coastline you will find many beaches, such as the charming coves around Begur, and the huge stretch of sand at Estartit, overlooking the Medes islands.
The medieval town of Pals is located on a hilltop, with a wonderful view over the area known as the “Empordà Petit”. Dating back to the 9th century, this charming town contains several buildings in a mixture mixture of Gothic to Baroque styles, and has received numerous awards in the past such as the National Award for Fine Arts and Tourism, and the Medal of Honour for Tourism in Catalonia.
Located within 15 minutes of Playa de Pals by car, the beautiful hillside town of Begur and its surrounding beaches are one of the most popular and wonderful spots on the Costa Brava. The old town is built around the remains of its medieval castle and offers lots of winding streets with a selection of charming restaurants to be found. From here the town works its way down to eight coves each with their own lovely beach.
Less than an hour’s drive will take you to the fantastic city of Girona. Perfect for a day trip to explore some real Spanish culture, why not take a leisurely stroll through the old town, visit the museums and the historic buildings, and discover the many tourist attractions, festivals and restaurants.
Playa de Pals is located just 90 minutes from Barcelona; one of the most popular European cities best known for its Gaudi architecture, vibrant night life and excellent shopping.
