The village of Guadalest is well worth a visit on your villa holiday, perching at the pinnacle of this mountain landscape, it commands impressive views of the picturesque valley and reservoir below. Despite its small size, this historic gem is quintessentially Spanish and brimming with remnants from the Moorish occupation of Spain, including the 12th century Castle of San José accessed through a natural tunnel in the rock, as well as the Castle of La Alcozaina. There are also several museums and other fascinating antiquities, making for an absorbing day out.

This beauty spot is a must when staying in Costa Blanca, and ideal to twin with a visit to Guadalest for a wonderful day out. The natural water falls of Algar are carefully preserved to maintain their original environment. You can swim and jump into many of the natural rock pools along the path of the falls, for a really refreshing dip.
