Winslow, Buckinghamshire. Family (the eldest child is at school)
- Very nice, spacious villa. Would benefit from having the showers improved: cheap, plastic heads with terrible flow and no height adjustment making it awkward for anyone over 6' tall to take a shower. Main bathroom shower has a curtain, seriously, who uses those now?
The outside lighting didn't work apart from two automatic lights by the terrace so it made it difficult when returning at night with no lights at the gates (those for every other villa in the street all came on together) or by the main entrance.
The wiring for the wi-fi is 'interesting' and would be illegal in this country. (I'm not sure about the electrical regulations in Spain but I'm pretty sure you shouldn't connect mains wiring to a device plug using a 'chocolate block' connector, also known as a 'fire starter' over here!)
Kitchen is dated but adequate and once the oven was repaired we managed to cook a few meals.
There are a couple of floor fans but it would benefit from air-con.
I can't complain as I knew it didn't have it before booking. You just take the risk, some houses are cooler than others. This one is hot as hell though so it's like sleeping in a fan oven at night.
Large pool and poolside area with table tennis which was a nice touch.
Upstairs terrace is lovely and is sunny in the morning and shady later on for meals. View is stunning but you can't go wrong in most of the higher locations of Javea really.
Overall reasonably happy but for the price I was expecting it to be a little more polished.
