Nestled amongst the vineyards and olive orchards of the Jalon Valley, Maria is an attractive, spacious property boasting panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and across to the neighbouring mountains. Situated a few minutes’ drive from the pretty old town of Jalon, home to a local market, and a small selection of bars and cafes where you really can immerse yourself in local life. Inside, the high beamed ceilings throughout the villa create a feeling of space, and each bedroom, as well as the lounge open out onto the covered terrace that stretches the length of the villa, providing a lovely shaded spot for al fresco dining or to simply relax whilst overlooking the pool.
Very tranquil and peaceful setting in the middle of a vineyard within a 15 minute walk from the village of Jalon which provided us with restaurants when we wanted to eat out and a superb supermarket when we didn't. The village was very quiet and very Spanish which was contrary to what we'd read. It is not touristy at all which suited us perfectly.
Mrs Heneghan, August 2013
The location of the villa was superb and the views from all sides were breathtaking whether it was the vineyards or the mountains. It was a lot bigger than the advert/photos lead us to believe but it was the tranquillity which was so lovely. No neighbours, no noisy parties/tourists but not isolated either being just a 15 minute walk into the village.

Villa Maria was a wonderful place for a holiday. The pool is big enough for a proper swim and a great place to play - gets very deep quite fast but this was good for encouraging my girls to improve their swimming and they were all doing lengths by the end of the week. The house is very spacious, well-equipped and has brilliant areas for relaxing in the shade outside. It has a really good walk in shower for washing off after hours in the pool. The view all around the villa is stunning and there are some fantastic, very good restaurants in nearby Alcalali. I'd recommend hiring a car as there are brilliant places to visit nearby including the beaches, lagoons and Moorish castles. We'd love to go back!

Lovely villa in a beautiful location. Plenty of space for six people with a choice of seating areas. Stunning views and quiet area. Easy walk into town for restaurants and local supermarket. Would benefit from air conditioning in bedrooms in very hot weather. Would return.

Maria is a very well presented villa, with gorgeous mountain views. It was perfect for our family group, with 2 double bedrooms for parents and grandparents and a twin room for the children. The villa itself feels huge, and definitely not cramped with 6 people staying in it. There are also a variety of social spaces inside and outside, as well as a couple of half-way conservatory-style spaces too.
The swimming pool area was basic in terms of amenities, but perfect for the children, while the adults 'supervised' from the sun-bed area. The barbecue is also very well positioned for cooking up some food while all this is going on.
Location is also a plus, with just a short walk into the village of Xalo, but still far enough away to make it feel like you're in the middle of nowhere.

Very large villa, loads of seating and tables everything you need is there gets very hot of a night as we felt we had to close the windows of a night as there are no shutters or grills on the windows, the pool is fantastic, gets deep very quickly very nice local bars for food and drinks. Local people very very nice.

The villa was in a nice quiet area, just what we wanted with mountains and vineyards as our back drop. We had no problems finding the place as we had a sat nav. However, the decor was outdated and not very clean. Upholstery and the floor could do with a good deep clean. Unfortunately we had very cold and rainy weather for 3 days so it was freezing and there is no heating! When we inquired we were told there were portable radiators to use. This wasn't sufficient as we were only able to have two on at once or the electrics would blow, and did each time the kettle or dishwasher was put on. We had to wheel them to each room and they barely took the chill off. There was only two of us so not sure how the occupants would cope if the villa was at full capacity with 6 people!
