This well appointed villa is situated just a five minute drive from the town centre and local amenities. Tastefully furnished throughout with a spacious kitchen and dining area, this property features modern furnishings and offers views of the surrounding countryside. The large terrace is well equipped for both taking in the sun and dining al fresco.
Excellent villa. Very spacious both inside and out. Well equipped kitchen which was separate from the main living area. More than enough room for 6 adults.
Mrs Gunning, April 2014
Perfect tranquil location Just outside of the town with stunning views towards the mountains, orange groves and sea. Pool a bit on the small side but the large outside terrace was a fantastic space and roof terrace an added bonus. All together a good sized villa with generous accommodation. Double bed mattress a bit hard but otherwise very comfortable. Great value for money at this time of year.
Mrs Loughlin, August 2013
We have been to Nerja with James Villas for about 10 years, but in a different villa which was not available this year. We were apprehensive about this villa because the latest review was about 2007 and sounded just "OK". We decided to go for it though and are very glad we did. There have obviously been some renovations. The beds all had new matresses, and all the free standing appliances are very new. The location is better as it is closer to the town. The Senor runs his little farm from the downstairs part of the villa, but we hardly saw him and mostly just at the weekends. He is very pleasant and friendly. We are already thinking about booking this villa again next year.
Mr Matthews, August 2013
it was much more remote than we'd expected and the fact that one had to go 'off road' to get to it were a little alarming at first - but actually it was rather nice not being overlooked by anybody - great views - and once we'd got used to the drive we rather relished our location and were happy to be off the beaten track!
Mrs Ketteringham, July 2013
It was better being out of town away from people
Mrs Eglington, March 2013
We loved the villa and the whole holiday, we would improve the directions slightly (the detail from beyond the supermarket could be worded more carefully) as we took a few wrong turns from the directions and had to back track, but we got there eventually.

This was the first time we had holidayed in a villa and we loved it. It was great having our own pool and we relaxed really quickly. We've only been back a couple of days and already checked the website for another holiday in a few months. We loved every aspect of the holiday - thanks for a great service.
Miss McHugh, June 2008
Luciernaga is a lovely villa in quite a secluded location, the pictures do not do it justice in terms of space - off the beaten track but easy to find and only a mile from attractions, facilities great and big enough for 6 adults! Terraces galore for sunbathing and the pool lovely and clean. The only downside is the uncomfortable beds but you can live with that all facilities considered!
Mr Parsons, May 2008
Our booking was very last minute (3 days) Our traveller advisor was Travel Adviser who was really excellent, very professional yet helpful and friendly a great ambassador for your company. The only pre-travel 'problem' was that we were told that there wasn't a washing machine at the villa (brochure omitted this) when in fact there was. our Representative was extremely pleasant and efficient the only slight problem at the villa being the broken dishwasher which she was unable to get repaired during our one week stay. However realistically could we have got our dishwasher at home repaired in less than 6 days? I doubt it. We had a wonderful time and will certainly seriously consider booking with James Villas again (especially at short notice if the price of the villa is reduced during off season times. I hope that you will bring our very favourable comments to the Attention of both Travel Adviser and our Representative
Mrs Cummins, April 2008
We really enjoyed our holiday. Our choice of villa was changed by your company close to the start of the holiday. This was due to building work near our original choice. we were very impressed that you sorted this out for us in advance. Our villa was lovelly, although we didn't like the town of Nerja or the immediate area around the villa. However, this wasn't James Villa's fault - just our experience with a new area. We will definitly use you again.

The villa was excellent, and was just as described. We were very pleased with everything, and within 7 days of getting back from our holiday we had our next holiday booked with James Villas again !

Lovely big villa for the two of us. Friends have stayed in the same villa. Great location, views and access to town/beach. Decor is a bit dated and the beds - I'm sorry to say - are truly awful. Please ask the owners to get some new ones :-) And while they're at it some new pans please!
Excellent service from James Villas and car hire company. Will definitely be booking another holiday.

Hayle, Cornwall Family, with eldest child
Really lovely spacious and private villa away from the main town but within easy walking distance of the shops, restaurants and beaches. Half an hour each way, although in the season it's a very hot half hour walk! Great (but not massive) swimming pool which was beautifully clean, along with plenty of sunbathing spots and shaded areas around the villa depending on how hot or cool you want to be. All the outside areas were very clean and tidy. Don't know why people complain about the dogs barking at night, because they are quite a distance away and can hardly be heard - especially with the windows closed and the aircon on! Beds although firmish were fine too! Good points; Nice to have the option of sun or shade whatever time of day. Plenty of room within the villa, and a choice of eating spots outside. Nice built in BBQ Great to have air conditioning in all the bedrooms and the lounge. Lovely big fridge freezer. There were as expected a few ants but James had supplied plenty of ant powder to help deal with them and keep well under control. It helps to brush up regularly and keep everything clean. Not so good points; For the money (and a villa for six) would have appreciated more than 1.5 toilet rolls for two toilets, at least a few dishwasher tablets (there was only one) and more than one refuse sack (especially when you're told to get rid of your rubbish every day). If you're not going to provide enough of these for two weeks' holiday, then at least a few more to get through the first 4 or 5 days would be appropriate. If you are a family of six, you'd struggle with the lack of enough crockery - as it was, we had to regularly dishes during the day to have enough for the next mealtime, and there was only four of us. It was very difficult to work out the oven and ring settings as the numbers/icons had all worn away. Could have done with a decent bread knife. Went out and bought a bag full of dishwasher tablets, but the dishwasher wasn't working when we arrived and took until the second Monday night before it was mended. Overall rating; A very good private villa in a lovely part of Spain close to Nerja which provided a great relaxing holiday for us!

We had a plumbing problem that meant no water overnight - the local rep helped resolve this very promptly but it did mean that one of our bathrooms was not usable for a couple of days. An ant problem in the kitchen but dare say this is fairly typical for this kind of location, Was worried at first about the location - the villa was on the edge of town and along some fairly rough roads, but soon became accustomed to this and in the end was grateful for a really quiet location.

This is a very nice Villa in a quiet setting however the payoff for that is slightly hairy access. Room sizes are good as is the general décor and plenty of outside space too. There is however only one decent umbrella and one not so good, given the Villa caters for six people and spending many hours round the pool not always in the sun is a major part of this kind of holiday and I feel three good quality sun shades is not too much to ask. My only other rather important moan is that the beds are uncomfortable, for me the mattresses are just too hard with no give at all however that may well suit others. A mention for Kim our Rep who is lovely and more importantly efficient. We had a couple of small problems needing attending to which Kim dealt with straight away and with a smile. Overall this is a very nice Villa and we would return.

The Villa is generally very well equipped and very comfortable, however the kitchen in particular lacks a few basics and while adequate may be a little short for 6. However that apart it is well equipped with even the basic English to channels unusual in Spain The location is ideal, great views over Nerja to the front and the mountains to the rear, while the outlook is over slightly agricultural land it does not detract, although the large tree just to the front does block a bit of the view and the large terrace on the roof could do with some chairs. For Spain the access is actually quite good the road while narrow twisty and steep in places is concrete and no real problem with access. You can walk to Nerja quite easily with just the last 100 yards or so being a bit steep and the Rio Chiller walk is a must just down the bottom of the hill. the market is also less than 3/4 mile away so again easily walkable. The Villa feels very safe and secure with a large electric entrance door and high walls. Generally very quiet with just the odd dog barking but that seems the norm for this area. Just to conclude 2 of the most powerful showers are just the icing on the cake!

We have stayed at the Luciernaga a number of times now and the feeling we have each time we arrive is that it really is a home from home (only in a better location)!
Far enough away from the town to provide peace and tranquility with both mountain and sea views whilst being just a short walk of 15-20 minutes to the beaches, bars and restaurants within Nerja.

Oxford Family (the eldest child is at school)
We loved our stay here! A family of 5 with three teens / pre-teens is very easy trying to find a holiday to suit everyone. We loved the location of the villa for a quiet holiday but it does require a car as the town /beach is a 5-10 min drive away and no shop / supermarket within walking distance. Pool area is fabulous! We would like to return which is the highest recommendation!
