Set in the province of Granada on the Costa Tropical, Cantarrijan sits within an area of national park which enjoys fabulous views across the countryside and out to sea. Here you’ll find a few local restaurants, while La Herradura can be reached within a 15 minute drive, offering restaurants, bars and shops as well as a beautiful sandy beach. To reach the majority of our properties, you have to drive off the beaten track along unsurfaced mountain tracks where you’ll get a real away-from-it-all feeling. When you take in the stunning views from your villa it will make a few bumps entirely worthwhile.

The restaurants in Nerja provide a wide choice of cuisine to suit almost everyone's tastes. In the centre of town you will find restaurants serving international dishes as well as lots of smaller bars serving more traditional Tapas dishes. Local specialities include Paella, Gambas PilPil (prawns in a spicy tomato sauce) and Pescado Frito (fried fish).
The vibrant seaside town of Nerja really comes to life at night offering evening entertainment to suit all tastes. Walking through the smaller streets you will find plenty of typically Spanish bars serving local wine, sangria and tapas dishes. These smaller bars are very popular with locals and tourists alike, and you will often see people sitting outside watching enjoying the warm summer evenings. For a slightly younger crowd there is also the ever popular “Trutti Frutti Square” where lively bars serve cocktails along with music and some karaoke until the early hours of the morning.
The Nerja Caves or Cuevas de Nerja are one of Spain's most popular historical sites and are well worth a visit during your time in Andalucia. The impressive caverns stretch for around 5km and, located outside of Nerja town, can be reached by car or by bus.
Balcon de Europa is also known as the Balcony of Europe gives you breathtaking views across Nerja. It was formally used as a fortress to keep away British priates now is one of the main attractions to get the best views in Nerja. The area is completely pedestrianised lined with cafes, restaurants and ice cream palours a buzzing environment day and night. Balcon de Europa was built by King Alfonso XII and there is a life size statue of him at the far end of the balcony.
There is a water park in Almunecar, within easy driving distance of our villas in Cantarrijan. The park is open from June to September and provides splashing fun for all the family!
Visit the Province of Granada and the majestic Alhambra Palace. Situated over an hour in land from Nerja, Alhambra can be reached by car or organised coach trip.
Museo de Nerja opened to the public in 2011 and is tightly linked with the Caves of Nerja foundation. They display artefacts from accross the years back to prehistoric times, show casing a lot of artefacts from the Caves of Nerja. The museum is open all year round but in July and August has extended opening hours.
