Beautiful villa, beautiful setting, beautiful area. A very relaxing holiday & we didn't want to leave!! Only point to make would be that air conditioning would be useful as it was very humid & bedding etc. felt damp

Directions from the airport were really clear and easy to follow.
On arrival at the villa, it hadn't been cleaned from the previous occupants which was disappointing. When the housekeepers arrived, at 4.15, they spent a couple of hours cleaning, so it was eventually clean and fresh but not an ideal start to the holiday having to wait outside for 2 hours with three children.
The villa is very spacious - the photos don't do it justice. Nice and bright and airy.
Beds are comfortable.
As mentioned in previous reviews, there is a strong smell in the kitchen cupboards but this didn't worry us too much.
The swimming pool was fabulous.... always at a perfect temperature and there is lots of adequate seating outside. Sadly the umbrella stands were broken so we did have to eat inside on breezy days as the sun was too strong to be unshaded.
The beach nearby is beautiful.
The villa is set in a very quiet residential area and you do need a car to get around.

On arrival at gone 4pm the villa had not been cleaned and the cleaners arrived shortly after we did so we felt we had to go out to allow them to clean. The driveway was uneven with the cobble loose in various places causing trip hazards. The gates to the villa did not shut properly. The overall appearance inside is very nice but after a few days we found the pull out sofa bed although not used as a bed was past its best. The kitchen was well laid out with everything that you could need and the dining area was fine. Upstairs the bedrooms were very good however new pillows are required through out as either rock hard and lumpy or very soft. The towels had seen better days and were like sandpaper. We were unable to use the safe as the instructions are only in Portuguese. The bathrooms continually flooded as the shower heads were all loose and turned to point out of the baths and the shower door in the upstairs bathroom comes apart in the middle. Outside the pool had not been cleaned before we arrived and could be dangerous for smaller children as there is a steep slope halfway across the pool to the deep end going from 1metre to 2.2metres very quickly. A shaded area would be beneficial as the umbrella bases were all broken. There is no built in barbecue as stated in the description and only when we searched the villa did we find a small metal barbecue. There is an uneven step outside the downstairs bedrooms which all of us either stubbed our toes or tripped on. The internal pool lights did not work or we couldn't find a switch for them. Overall we thought that the villa is not up to the usually James villa standard that we have experienced before and were a little bit disappointed. Also, there is a lot of building work going on close to the villa and was woken up quite early by the noise, however, we still had a good holiday.
