Leeds Family (the eldest child is at school)
- Wow! The Olive Tree was so much better than the pictures on the website! Very spacious but also very private. There is a local neighbour who would basically have to stand right up against the 6ft fence to see in, so there is a real feel of privacy. Views are lovely and a short walk along the road they get even better. It's a short drive to everything you need, so best of both. Total privacy and quiet but still close to essentials.
Some reviews say the pool is cold and the beds hard. The beds are firm, but we all slept very well on them. The pool is the same temperature as any other non-heated pool we've had and it also uses a very nice filtration system that doesn't leave you stinking of chlorine.
We selected the box for a visit from the local Rep. Maureen was fantastic, clearly a lot of local knowledge and her advice was spot on. We had 4 adults and 2 young children. She recommended a visit to Monte Clérigo Beach which really was lovely, just a small place with 3 cafes a few homes and a fantastic beach. Well worth the cross country drive to reach it. Zoomarine was also a god call, very nice theme park / zoo especially if you have young kids.
My only minor gripe would be the housekeeping. We didn't see anyone for the whole week, towels were supposed to be changed half way through but they weren't. There were no basic cleaning supplies for us to use, not even a bin bag, and I felt that for the standard of Villa either basic supplies or a mid week clean would have been expected. Same for the pool, in previous villas we've had someone come in every morning before we got up to check the pool but not here. Not that it really needed it I suppose.
Overall, I would go back next week if I could !!!
