Resort overview

Clube Atlantico enjoys a quiet, cliff top location to the east of the former fishing village of Carvoeiro, where you’ll find friendly cafés and bars and a huge selection of restaurants clustered around the little town beach. Golf

Just a few minutes’ drive from the resort, the excellent Pestana Golf Club boasts two superb 18-hole courses where James Villa golfers staying at Clube Atlantico are offered year-round discounts on green fees. On the versatile Gramacho course you’ll encounter artfully sculpted lakes and bunkers, while Vale da Pinta is known as one of the most beautifully designed courses in Europe, its undulating terrain dotted with carob, fig, almond and olive trees. The large golf academy offers first class coaching and excellent practice facilities.

Gramacho

After his success designing the Vale de Pinta course, Ronald Fream teamed up with the former world No. 1 Nick Price to create the unique design of Gramacho. With 18 holes and 27 greens, plus numerous different tee points, players are able to enjoy the same course time and time again but always with slightly different challenges. Having hosted the Portuguese Ladies Open on a number of occasions Gramacho is recognised as a championship course.

This villa was fantastic.. Really spacious and comfortable (if a bit dated). The resort was quiet and peaceful compared with the business everywhere else. It was unusually hot and humid when we were there and could have done with air con, but the rep was really helpful and brought more fans which helped. Would definitely come again. Thank-you!

Casa Julian was wonderful. The villa was spacious, well appointed and well decorated. It does not have air-con but because it is so spacious, it kept fairly cool even though the average temperature was about 32 degrees. The pool was lovely and the garden area was well maintained. Club Atlantico where the villa is situated is a 5 minute drive from the town which is small and beautiful. There isa fantastic restaurant on site called Bella Vita - perfect for non-driving meals.

Excellent villa, much bigger than we expected which was a very pleasant surprise. Great furnishings and equipment, lovely garden and pool which we took full advantage of. we couldn't really fault the place. Very easy to get the a beautiful beach but not suitable beach access by foot for those that may lack the ability to climb stairs.

This villa is lovely - ideal if you have 2 families as there are 2 ensuite bedrooms downstairs and 2 upstairs so each can have their own space - only 3 of us, so a bathroom each and one spare! All the furnishings and decor are modern, bright and fresh; and there are some nice personal touches with the choice of art work too. It is in a really quiet location - the villas either side were occupied but the way they are laid out means you very rarely hear or see each other. You get stunning views from the roof terrace especially at sunset. The lighthouse is very visible - light flashing all night took a bit of getting used to! Tennis courts (free) were enjoyed 4 times. The pool was grand to cool down, but is a bit small if you want a proper swim (but we knew this beforehand) The one tiny thing that would have improved our stay would have been a 'pod type' coffee machine instead of a traditional filter one, the Portuguese supermarkets all sell this coffee now and we missed having a decent cup!

Beautiful and spacious villa. Lots of interesting features and furnished to a very high standard. Extremely private considering its resort location. Would definitely recommend staying here and will consider returning in the future myself. Lots of split levels and steps for those with young children but our two year old managed to make it through the holiday without any incidents!

This is an absolutely excellent villa for a family holiday.

It is all on one level but is still very spacious and you don't feel on top of each other. It has several sitting areas both inside and out catering for all. There are 3 bathrooms so enough for larger groups.

This villa has everything you could ever need and more. It was short of nothing. Everything we thought 'we could do with this' upon exploring the cupboards and villa we would find it from salad tongs to an electronic sun canopy over the outside dining area. This villa even has an extra small bathroom near the pool to save you having to go into the main villa when wet, perfect if you have kids.

The villa is kept exceptionally clean by the lovely maid Elena. She was always very polite and helpful and in no way intrusive.

This villa is on a bigger complex but still feels very private, you can hear neighbours however there was no excessive noise, but you are not directly overlooking any.

The onsite restaurant La Bella Vita is outstanding and one of the best we have ever visited. Nothing was too much trouble. They asked my children what they wanted to eat and were more than happy to oblige their requests. The staff have got the levels of attentiveness just right and made us feel very welcome. The food, well it is just beautiful. We would highly recommend a visit.

All in all we cannot fault this villa, it was everything we expected and more and we are hoping to return again next year.

Overall an excellent villa with beautiful views. Well appointed well equipped in the kitchen. Only adverse comment- the steps into the swimming pool were loose. We all coped but if someone pulled hard on them they might have come away.
Eleana, the maid, was hard working, efficient and lovely with our small children. A great pleasure to have around.
The complex had a small playground suitable for small children and the restaurant provided a high quality menu at very reasonable prices.
Certainly a place we would have no hesitation in re-booking.
