Ipswich Family (with only pre-school children)
Good accommodation although a bit tired looking in some areas. Comfortable beds , lighting a little dark in places. Large outside space, good parking and very private. The swimming pool was a good size but went very quickly from shallow to deeper water. Also very cold - would benefit from a cover for using at night to trap any daytime heat.
Good supermarkets within 5 minute car journey, could have walked but roads very narrow without pavements.

Villa kitchen and bathrooms are shabby but functional villa is a bit tired Pool and pool area are good...but the worse thing is it's besides a busy rat run road which should be put in the villa description and the villa entrance is quiet dangerous. James gives the impression this is a quiet villa in the country side but at certain times of days it is very noisey. Having used James villas for the last 10 years this has put me off booking again.

Well appointed villa in a very convenient location. The pool was a perfect size with plenty of space around it for relaxing, BBQ and so on. The villa was equipped with everything needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay, the air conditioning made the bedrooms very comfortable at night.

Family (the eldest child is at school)
It was a lovely villa with lots of space, especially outdoors and the pool is a great size. It is a little out of the way from the town, restaurants and beach but only a quick car/ taxi ride. It did mean you it was lovely and private and not overlooked at all. Being critical, it would benefit from updated bedding and possibly is a little dated, but perfectly functional and it wasn't a problem. A great villa.

Walsall Family with grown up
We arrived on Saturday to find dirty towels (an issue we have had with our previous James Villa Holiday) that smelt rank and had obviously not been changed that morning which was a good start to the fortnight, we had to wait until the Wednesday for the maid to arrive and change these who turned up with no key so how she would have got in to change them if we were not there is anyone's guess. Overall the Villa itself was ok but in need of some care and attention as there were cracked wall and floor tiles all over the place which ruined the overall internal appearance, overall the décor was acceptable and it's position on the top of a hill was great for catching the sea breeze and gave a welcoming cooling aspect in the heat. Views from the balcony were lovely and it was a joy to sit out on whilst having breakfast every morning and the aircon was a godsend during the night. As for the pool area the umbrella's provided were unsatisfactory and were in fact dangerous as we had one instance of one of them flying out of it's base and nearly hitting my son whilst we were all in the swimming pool, these need securing into the ground around the pool area as when the breeze gets up it merely knocks them over or rips them from their stand. Although it is stated about the steps leading down to the pool area this should not be overlooked especially for the less agile guests or for families with young children as a fall down these could cause a serious injury and mothers especially would not be able to relax, the BBQ was basic to say the least, loungers were ok and this area had the only bit of stable shade that could be used.
Our maid didn't then arrive until the second Monday and proceeded to spend two hours putting three loads of washing (towels/sheets) through using the washing machine in the Villa which we thought was disgraceful, these facilities are for the use of guests whilst staying at the Villa and not for the maid service.

As for the Algarve this area of Portugal is beautiful and we will definitely be going back at some point to explore the rest of it, not sure if it will be with James Villas though.
