We know this area of Portugal very well, the villa was just far enough out of town secluded but not remote - perfect!

Lovely villa in country. Excellent directions - we arrived in the dark and found the house easily.

    • Mr Tofield, May 2011

The villa location makes it easy to visit the beaches and towns and aqua parks in the area. I would recommend Silve as a day out.

    • Mr Steptoe, June 2010

Destination was very good, the villa was out of town in a very quiet area however it was only a short drive or walk to shops and the beach.

    • Mr Redgate, April 2010

Excellent value for money. The villa was in a lovely postion, 4 minutes by car to the town or shops or 30 mins on a nice walk. Could have not picked a better spot, and the beaches around Armasco were excellent.

We had a fantastic relaxing time with no worries because it was all taken care of. We were particularly impressed on how well the villa cleaned and serviced throughout our stay. The only problem we had with the holiday was that the mattresses were really hard which may it difficult to sleep. The questionnaire asks me to comment on the appearance and knowledge of an representative we never met.

Perfect location, private but only five minutes drive to beach and amenities. Lovely pool and villa 😄

The quality of the furnishings in this villa is not particularly good - a little dated perhaps? There are a couple of minor things that let it down for me. When I arrived some of the sun beds were on their side and actually made the pool area rather untidy. I couldn't find any pegs for the washing line. The supply of some guest soap would help to add a nice touch. (I did say these were minor things but if resolved would have made me feel a little better about the villa. Nice location though and having said what I've said I had already booked to go again in October and have no regrets about that.

Villa was excellent. Only real complaint pillows not comfortable. Would have been nice to have had a little washing up liquid and a bin liner. Other wise a lovely time

Blackpool Family (with only pre-school children)
We enjoyed our stay, however did think the bedding, pillows and other bits were poor quality, we had to go and buy pillows because they were that bad, sheets were very old and bobbly, mattress was awful. Cot and high chair filthy and full of cobwebs. Manager was helpful though and friendly.

The main thing that would stop us staying at this villa again are the beds. They are so hard and uncomfortable that we were unable to get a good nights sleep. Also the pillows were not comfortable

Overall, the quality and comfort of the furnishings are a bit old and uncomfortable, this also goes for the sunbed cushions, which have seen better days.

The villa is a good base for the area although being quite remote and difficult to find the first time on arrival in the dark! You definitely need a car as there are no shops or bars that are in walkable distance

Family (the eldest child is at school)
Overall the villa was lovely, very warm and welcoming with even the owner popping by to welcome us.
Like other reviews the mattresses were a lot harder than we are used to but certainly did not spoil our holiday.
It was difficult to locate the villa due to its location but once used to landmarks it was a lot easier.
Had a great holiday overall and loved the villa it was well presented with lovely gardens enclosing the swimming pool with plenty of living utensils to meet all our needs.

The rep sue was excellent very good done everything we asked overall pleased only problem was the pool dyed some swimwear think the chlorine or ph level was to high we did mention this to the owner but he tried blaming it on the sun lotion in the pool and showed us a water sample which was ok on one test but high on the other apart from that very nice and peaceful area

Just back from a fab week at this villa. It is very secluded and quite tricky to find. But once there the peace and tranquility immerse you. Yes, this villa is not completely modern and the beds are very hard, but none of this affected out stay. The local rep,Susan, was extremely helpful and helped us arrange a taxi. You absolutely need a car here. Didn't see one bus. We loved the local town and ate there every evening. All in all we had a good holiday.

Sheffield Couple
The villa is in a very quiet peaceful location but not isolated. I loved the layout and the large balconies upstairs. The pool area is lovely but the sun loungers/parasols/outdoor furniture was a bit tired and shabby. The pool is not heated and was very cold in the mornings but is a lovely size and very clean.

Clean sheets bath towels and pool towels provided were all of a good quality.

The house was well cleaned in all the main areas, however there were a lot of cobwebs on ceiling corners and in the window frames and the odd dead beetle lurking in corners. That didn't bother us - it is a rural location after all and bugs are to be expected, but the cleaners overlooked these every time they came in. The cobwebs were not swept away and dead beetle in the bedroom which was there when we arrived was still there when we l left 2 weeks later!

The indoor furnishings were not luxurious but decent enough for a rental property. The beds were firm - but I liked that for my bad back. (The patio door and shutter need some attention though). The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed - and some things we didn't.

Didn't use the barbeque partly because it is in a strange location on the wrong side of the house, but this time we found so many lovely restaurants we didn't bother our usual steak & fish bbq.

Can't comment on local night life. We like dinner and drinks but not the clubbing/party type.

Overall it is a very pleasant villa just a short drive from restaurants and bustle of both Porches and Armacao de Pera. It is quite good value for the price although it could do with a little upgrading/modernising - but then the price would probably be higher!

We had a fabulous laid back holiday. Would we return? Definitely Yes!
