Zurrieq is the largest village in the south of the island, and one of the original medieval parishes. The village is located near some spectacular coastline - the picturesque, tiny harbour of Wied iz-Zurrieq at the end of a rugged valley. From the harbour, you can take a short boat trip to the Blue Grotto, a series of natural, sea-level caves, and a local beauty spot.View villas in Zurrieq

Rabbit and meat stew is very popular amongst the Maltese and Gozitans, as well as delicious Italian-inspired pizza. Sample the local produce including fresh berries, olives and wine from the vineyards.
Zurreiqs nightlife is laid-back and relaxed, with a small selection of bars and restaurants. You can easily spend the evening over dinner with a glass or two of wine, enjoying the Maltese cuisine. For a more choice, head to Marsaxlokk or Valetta.
The Blue Grotto is a series of caves, popular amongst tourists and scuba-divers. Every morning the sunlight reflects on the water creating a serene, turquoise mirror-effect in the caverns. There are some great local restaurants nearby serving traditional Maltese food.
