Mellieha a village was developed under British colonization after the British encouraged people to settle in the area by giving leases to the population. The town has retained its historic centre with narrow streets and stepped alleys, and an underground chapel with frescoes said to have been painted by St Luke. The beach is the largest in Malta and offers good swimming with gently shelving sand. The north east breezes make it popular for windsurfing. Many of our villas are located in the estate of Santa Maria which enjoys great views over the bay. A good choice of shops, restaurants and entertainment can also be found in this popular resort.

Rabbit and meat stew is very popular amongst the Maltese and Gozitans, as well as delicious Italian-inspired pizza. Sample the local produce including fresh berries, olives and wine from the vineyards.
Mellieha's nightlife is laid-back and relaxed, with bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. You can easily spend the evening over dinner with a glass or two of wine, enjoying the Maltese cuisine. For a more energetic scene, head to Bugibba or St. Julians for a livelier array of bars and clubs.
Ghadira nature reserve is the perfect spot for bird-watching.
Popeye village - the stunning set of the 1979 film is based in Anchor Bay.
There is a large waterpark called "Splash and Fun Park", located inbetween Bugibba and St Julians, with a selection of winding slides and pools for the whole family to enjoy. Another great place to take the family is the Mediterraneo Marine Park, where you can book a session to swim with dolphins.
The passenger ferry terminal is located in Mellieha, which makes this resort a convenient way to island-hop. Visit pretty Gozo and it's capital iof Victoria, which can be explored in just a day, or the tiny island of Comino where you will find beatiful bays to swim.
For enthusiastic divers of all levels, an underwater safari tour may be a good choice for your holiday with several popular dive sites to explore. Located near Cirkewwa you will find the sunken vessel of the Tug Boat Rozi, or the Dragonara cave at Ahrax which leads you to an inland grotto, home to a few corals and starfish.
Mellieha cathedral is over 100 years old, and is a beautiful site to visit.
The largest World War II air raid shelters in Malta have been preserved for those interested in history. Also still standing is the red military signal tower which linked Valleta and Gozo in the 1600s.
Malta's only national park; Tal Majjistral, can be found between Golden Bay and Anchor Bay.
