Podere Coiano is a quaint stone house boasting wonderful views over the valley to the nearby historic town of Volterra, which is only 10 minutes away by car. Further afield the well-known town of San Gimignano with its medieval towers is a 30 minute drive, and the larger towns of Siena and Pisa can be reached within an hours drive away. This property offers great facilities such as air-conditioning, WIFI, a Nintendo Wii, a separate utility area and a fully equipped kitchen. Stylishly furnished throughout, this one bedroomed villa is a delightful hideaway, ideal for couples looking to get away from it all.
Excellent amenities and absolutely wonderful location.
The living room was a little disappointing as regards seating - the sofa was not particularly comfortable, and there was no other seating available. It was great to have the luxury of two bathrooms - a good idea to have the downstairs one for convenience after being in the pool - but I personally would have liked a bath! Kitchen really well-equipped although it would have been useful to have had access to extra bin bags. The cleaning staff we met were really friendly and every efficient. Rep. great.

We had been to the Volterra region previously, so knew pretty well what to expect, although we were not expecting to be in quite such a spectacular and convenient location. The photos. really did not do it justice! (I have some photos that you are welcome to have copies of, if you like!)

Already booked a trip back next year! I have emailed your customer service team with some feedback about this trip too - we both absolutely loved it!

The villa was in the most amazing location with stunning views across the valley. To find a villa with such a large pool for two was a real find. The sunloungers had seen better days and we didn't attempt to use the electric barbeque as the thought of cleaning an electrical element seemed daunting. Minor niggles aside - we fell in love with Volterra and Tuscany. The drive to the village in the evening to eat - only 5km- was so easy once you became familar with the twists and turns of the road. We ate very well!
Mr Maddock, July 2012
Isolated and quiet but close enough to Volterra for access for food shops etc.
Mr McInroy, April 2012
This villa was beautifully rustic and very true to form of the area - a wonderfully peaceful setting in a prime location for exploring Tuscany.
Mr Connolly, June 2011
Just returned from our Honeymoon, had this Villas as our second week in Italy. The perfect place to relax & unwind after sightseeing in Rome! Shame that the hedge and olive trees restrict the views of surrounding Tuscan countryside when you are poolside, but a minor point really. Would definitely go back.
Mr Byron, June 2011
beautiful and relaxing villa
Mr Doherty, September 2010
The pool could have been a bit cleaner. There was quite a lot of scum marks around the edges.

Good location near Volterra overlooking an attractive valley.

Podere Coiano was a very attractive villa - but its big selling point was that it is one of the few detached, private villas with private pool for use by singles or a couple. I think there is a definite niche for this. Honeymoons, romantic getaways or singles wanting privacy and not having to pay a premium for unused rooms. The owner was very friendly and discreet.
Welcome Pack was not worth having.
Having a DVD player was great - except it had no remote control and no ability to select (so couldn't watch episodes if more than 1 one on the disc).
Would have been nice to have pool heating option.
Sunloungers were all broken and there were no cushions
But the view was stunning, the area stunning and the villa was very attractive and a great size for 1 or 2 people. I would definitely recommend it. It would be perfect if minor gripes above could be addressed.
Flights were disappointing - on way out the flight was delayed as a different plane had to be used and there was 2 hour delay on the way back.
Was upgraded from Fiesta to Fusion but did not feel like an upgrade as the Fusion was a 1.4 diesel and drove like a tank, it was dirty and the handbrake was not very reliable, especially on steep Tuscan hills! Would have preferred a nippy Fiesta to be honest.
I don't do many S/C holidays - would be nice to have a bit more guidance as to what to bring along, i.e. a few dishwasher tablets, small bottle of washing up liquid etc so as to avoid the expense of having to buy a whole thing locally. I ended up buying washing up liquid, foil, hand soap etc and leaving most behind.

The most wonderful villa in a magical setting, providing us with a fantastic relaxing holiday.

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Wanted to book the same villa again for September but sadly it was already fully booked!

The villa is in a good location with great views. There is ample comfortable seating outside and the pool was clean and well looked after. The air conditioning in the bedroom was efficient and quiet. The furnishings indoors were basic but it was clean and comfortable.

Picture perfect villa for the 2 of us. Only a couple of grumbles. We didn't sleep well as the mattress was very firm and thin, and we woke with aching hips and shoulders. Also although the night temperature outside was relatively low, it was hot in the bedroom and to get a through draught we needed the small window in the bathroom open, and this didn't have a net. As a result we were bitten ++. We tried the air conditioning once but this was too noisy, blowy and cold. There were instructions on when to put rubbish out and when, but we couldn't find any of the replacement blue bags to use in the bins. Only one dishcloth and teatowel was a bit measly. The house comes with its own 2 cats that seem to expect feeding, which we enjoyed as were missing our own animals, but if you don't like cats this isn't the place for you! (They don't sleep inside, but are generally waiting on the doormat in the morning) The covered outside eating is perfect as it catches the sun for breakfast lunch and dinner with great views of the surrounding hills and valleys. The pool area is also very nice although round pebbles might have been a better choice than the harsh gravel. Pool cleaned twice to our knowledge whilst we were there. We used the BBQ twice with good results. Overall this is an idyllic quiet base for a couple looking to get away from it all. It is half way up the hill to Volterra - getting there is a 10min drive round a series of bends; the Conan Supermarket is just at the top of the hill (we shopped at the Co-op, which has slightly more choice, for our initial shop, but Conan was perfectly adequate for fresh fruit/veg meat and a good selection of bread). Had one daytrip to Siena (1 1/2 hrs drive max) and an afternoon in San Grimignano (30mins drive). Both strongly recommended.

As described. Peaceful rural setting with stunning views which suited us but maybe not everybody. It was clean & tidy & everything worked.

A lovely little villa in a beautiful setting. The facilities are though very basic and limited.

Beautiful gardens and vista. Poor cutlery supply & a dishwasher that never cleaned properly - probably down to no rinse aid or salt.
We were unable to stop the air conditioner unit in the bedroom. It came on every night at different times being temperature controlled, was noisy, and the bedroom was far too cold with a resultant sleep disturbance.

Lovely place great location Only issue is states there is air con however it's set at 24 degrees and is on a timer only coming on early morning and late evening and with no way of adjusting so in my opinion don't advertise as having air con as 24 degrees is no more than just a fan !! Which can't be adjusted
