Torre delle Stelle, known as the ‘Tower of the Stars’, is a popular area surrounded by two fantastic, white sandy beaches, a few local restaurants and a mini market. The capital city of Cagliari is within an easy drive, where many cultural and historical sights can be enjoyed, including an open air Roman amphitheatre. A thirty minute drive along the coast in the other direction will bring you to the beautiful protected marine area of capo carbonara.

Most restaurants in Sardinia will serve fresh and quality produce, along with Italian wine. Seafood is always a good option, especially when by the coast - ask to see your fish before it is cooked for you. Also, when in Torre delle Stelle, try the fresh pasta or 'pasta fresca' including hand made Sardinian specialities such as 'culurgiones', which are small pasta parcels filled with potatoes and herbs, covered in a tomato sauce.
Torre Delle Stelle is a peaceful residential area, with just one or two local restaurants to spend your evenings. If you don't fancy a barbecue at the villa, head to the town of Cagliari, where you which find much more vibrant scene, with bars in the old town and most of the clubs in the marina, Poetta Beach, Stampace and Castello Districts.
Sette Fratelli Mountains (the 'seven brothers') are an hours drive from Torre delle Stelle, and are great place to explore the Sardinian countryside, especially for nature lovers and those who enjoy a challenging walk. The moutains are situated in the middle of a public forest, with marked out paths for its visitors.
A 45 minute drive will take you into the centre of Sardinia’s capital and largest city on the island. Cagliari is great for shopping, culture and sightseeing, with the old town streets lined with shops cafes and restaurants and its marina with more upmarket bars and clubs for when the sun sets.
There are many churches and cathedrals to visit in the centre of Cagliari, two of the most monumental churches being the Church of Sant'Antonio Abate and the Church of San Giacomo. The Gothic Cathedral is devoted to Saint Mary and is the seat of the archbishop of Cagliari.
