- Have stayed at a few James Villas, this one was one of the best. Great views, very clean pool and right size. Villa clean and games room brilliant. Wonderful place for a great holiday.

Villa Doretta is located in a prime elevated position, nestled upon a tranquil olive grove covered hillside, boasting spectacular views across the surrounding countryside, across Vassilikos and out to sea. Doretta is modern in design and has been comfortably furnished throughout, offering very spacious living quarters over three floors, which includes a games room with table tennis, table football and a pool table. Patio doors lead out from games room to a private secluded swimming pool and built-in barbecue. The nearby bars, tavernas and beaches of Vasilikos can be found just a short drive down the hill.

The most beautiful villa with the loveliest view. Stayed in many James' and this was as good if not better.
Would recommend Big Blue boat hire at Keri for an enjoyable day. If you are wanting to see turtles, a lot of the glass bottom boat tours throw tomatoes which turtles surface to eat, so may be an idea to bring some and throw them in at turtle spotting areas.
Also in Keri, the Lighthouse Taverna is an amazing spot with beautiful views and a platform that stretches out over the cliff.
Locally, the coffee house at the bottom of the road to this villa is wonderful with the nicest staff. We managed to catch a traditional Greek band playing live music on the Saturday and would highly recommend this.
Also, if you drive up to the last villa/house on this mountain road and park, you can walk a short distance up the side of the mountain through the trees, a convenient zigzag path with a gradual incline is there. You can find a viewing platform coming out the side of the mountain with breath taking views.
Gerahas and Alhyes beaches are beautifulFantasy mini golf in Argassi was also very enjoyable and the staff are very friendly.
Emjoy your stay but watch out for Greek drivers!
Had a very relaxing week, thanks mainly to Jane resolving any issues and the lovely location, pool etc.
Highlights were Utopia (dinner recommendation by Jane) just before Argasi. and Babus where we ate twice in the village. Dafni beach and Gerahas Beach are both beautiful. Also hired a boat from Captain's in Ceri beach for a morning which was good fun.
We never got to the north either as it was so hot to sit in the car for hours.
Thanks for a great week
This has been a fantastic place to stay. Spectacular views and a great pool.
There were 6 of us staying and we ate in several times as well as eating in the local tavernas.
We can recommend Ionio, Vasilikos, Garden, Coffee House, Skarsofoli in the village. Also Bubis and Nikos down at Gerakas Beach.
Andy and Chris also enjoyed a good curry at the Marhajah in Kalamaki.
We had several trips out and recommend the Blue Caves and Navagio (shipwreck)
Visits to the mountains in Volimes and Kilomenos for local produce made by the women in the village.
Keri was a fantastic viewpoint to enjoy a meal at the Lighthouse Tavern -stunning blue waters.
All in all Doretta Villa has been brilliant.
June the rep will sort out any problems too.
We would certainly recommend this villa and would love to come again.
Lovely villa with fantastic views.
Good fun was had by all as a family of four - our kids had a great time! Really enjoyed the pool!
Banana Beach lovely - just sit on the lounger and get waited on, what more could you ask for?
On a visit to Keri we hired a motorboat from Dolphin Boat Centre at a cost of €80 for 3 hours which is more than enough time to see everything.
Pretty much ate out every night at a cost of anything from 50 - 80 euros tops! Really good value for money
Very friendly, lovely locals and love, love, love Greece!!
Second time we have stayed at Doretta. Love the villa and stunning views. Local restaurants we thought Athena Kitchen was the best, for good food exceptional value and very friendly hosts. Strof next door was also good value, Small and intimate. 'Skartsafeli’ is more sophisticated and very good. 'Ionio' on the beach is a bit pretentious and quite pricey but lovely views of the beach. Go for the house red wine as it is the same as the expensive alternatives.
For wonderful cocktails and drinks and friendliest welcome from Paul and Tineka, visit the coffee shop in the centre of the village. Village itself is charming and all the locals very friendly.
Dafai beach is worth visiting but you need a car and take the main road from Argassi, as the track from the end of the village isn’t in a good condition. As the bridge between the track and the better road has collapsed you can’t access the better road if you use the track.
Our thanks to Jane, our James villa rep, who sorted out any problems we had.
Our table tennis has improved and great to have when the clouds came over. We’ll be back again.
P.S. If you want to get fit, take the track up to the top of the mountain. My best time was 12.5 minutes runners should be able to do it in 10/11 minutes – good luck and by the way, stunning views over the Laguna
Simply the best villa we have ever stayed in! Very well appointed and the lay out works perfectly.
As before, we confirm that Dafni was the best beach (the dive school is also very good, a try n dive would be perfect.),
I tried to find it on a run, got lost and ran for miles... Follow the directions or drive.
Didn’t have a bad meal out, try Ionian lamb from the oven from any specials.
We wouldn’t recommend Turtle Beach Dive School in Keri, gear was old and tired and it was just a factory to them.
The man in the supermarket(1st on the right hand side) is a delight with great cheese pies, try and get their before 10.00am for the best choice.
Have a wonderful stay, we did.
We absolutely loved the villa and really enjoyed our stay here! Would recommend Da Camillo for excellent Italian food (makes a nice break from Greek food) and lovely owners; Ionio restaurant (right on the main road and turn left a couple hundred metres down) had amazing views of the beach and the sunset over Kefalonia! Agnadi and Windmill (both on the way to Zakynthos town) were both great with authentic Greek food.
We walked to Dafni beach on one of the days which is a lovely downhill walk there, but a difficult uphill walk on the way back so wouldn't recommend doing in the heat! Directions: left out the villa, right after house with the Greek flag, left turn onto road, left at wire fence then straight on same road for about 20 mins until a steep left turn up a road that doesn't really look like a path which will take you onto the main paved road that heads left down to Dafni!
Dafni was the quietest beach and free umbrellas but was fairly pebbly with slightly murkier waters that other beaches in the area because of the turtles it is underdeveloped. Would recommend Ionio beach, slightly busier, particularly during the middle of the day, but clear water and lovely white sand.
There is a Lidl by the airport (30 minutes away) if you're looking for cheaper food & fresh produce but the supermarkets at the main road on the right are lovely too, but more expensive.
Overall, we had a brilliant stay, the villa is in the perfect location - tranquil with stunning views! Absolutely loved the games room and the pool!
Thanks so much!
Enjoyed the pool and the views. Boys loved the games room. Great walks over the mountain but beware the dirt track to Dafni Beach!!
Tavernas all good. Giavannis was a last day discovery and really good value for money.
Really enjoyed our stay up on the hillside. Great views - our fifth stay in Vassilikos but our first stay in Villa Doretta.
Our top tips:
- Best Wi-Fi hotspots in the villa are in the small double bedroom and the small balcony - as well as adopting a titanic pose over the railings by the pool
- We followed other reviews and walked over the hill to Dafni beach. Directions: Turn right at the house past the chickens with the Greek flag and then at the next fork in the road turn left up the hill and left onto another treacherous rocky hill! Good luck!
- Best tavernas - good meals in all, but especially Giovannis, Ionian and Skartsofoli. All make you feel welcome.
a few minor problems were soon rectified by our rep
