Delicious pizzas, fabulous sunsets and home made wine

We've had an enjoyable stay here at Isabella. The property was generally even nicer than the online pictures, whilst the service from the outside team (especially the maid) was first class. This villa offers excellent value for money.

The car hire proved essential - the village is just too far away to walk (especially the steep climb on the way back!)

      Some recommendations for fellow travellers:

      • Kera beach is very pleasant. We really liked The Wave bar and restaurant who served fabulous food and lovely local wine (yes, really). Delicious pizzas!
      • Michaelis Taverna is at Kambi which we preferred to The Cross. Kambi is about 15-20 mins drive away and the road is fine for driving back after dark - which is essential so that you can enjoy the fabulous sunsets from the Taverna.
      • The Old Mill is about 20 minutes from here at Loucha. Simply turn right on the road at the bottom of the villa driveway and keep going. The hospitality is great as is the food whilst the views are delightful!
      • Selene Taverna in the village is ok to sit in although the décor is a bit average. But they deliver food to the villa which is fabulous!! There is a little homemade wine shop next door...the wine takes some getting used to but it's fine.

Enjoy your stay. Thanks Pepos, Victoria and Voula.

      Kalamati Beach best for swimming.

We have had an amazing time at this beautiful villa. Peppos, Voula and Victoria have been wonderful hosts. Zante is a great island and we have seen pretty much every inch! The water village was a good boys day out for my son, we loved the Go Karts so much that we had to go back again!

Beware of Porto Vrani (Shipwreck Beach Tours), it gets very, very busy so go early morning to ensure a boat...we tried 3 times!

We visited a lot of beaches but settled on Kalamati beach as the best for swimming.

We ate at Selena Tavern and the Sunset Tavern both of which were so good, we went back again!

Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable

PS. Don't bother with the Lidl - AB over the road is 10 x better!

      Perfect holiday in every way

We fell in love with the villa and the island as soon as we arrived. This is a beautiful place and every day we found something new to see or do. There are some super reviews in this book and we agree with them all.

Our favourite boat trip was with Renata Boats from Port Vroni - read her reviews, she is excellent and on a small boat you get to see/do so much. Great fun if you like swimming in the caves

Our boys loved jumping off the rocks at nearby beaches and the beaches we discovered with the boat we hired. We all loved swimming in the sea.

We went to so many nearby villages as we could to have a coffee and explore. Bought local produce (fantastic honey and wine) The Garden of Tastes nearby does amazing grapes!

The days at the villa were a delight watching the birds and butterflies. The kids (and us) loved the pool

Thank you so much to the owners and their lovely daughter, you made our stay perfect.

Ampelostrates Horese Vineyard - try it!

Villa Isabella has been a lovely tranquil place for our holiday. The villa facilities and the cleanliness have been superb and without exception this is one of the nicest we have stayed at.

The information provided by all of the previous guests has been a big help and in our stay this week we have completed nearly all of them. Our favourites have been the beaches and boating at Keri and St Nicholas Port, both have good tavernas especially in Keri town where you can watch the sunset.

We also tried Ampelostrates Horese Vineyard in Koiliomenos whch is only open Friday - Sunday and is a totally different experience but is worth going. The food is good and buy the house red and white which they sell to take away.

Thanks again to Victoria, Voula and Pepos for a memorable holiday.

Great Location - Lots To Do And See

Great villa! We enjoyed our week here at Isabella. The welcome pack was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. - thank you! Thanks also for such a well-equipped, clean and well maintained house - Victoria, you are a star!

We didn't see a lot of Peppos and Voula but it is clear they know how to make guests welcome - and what well tended gardens and pool. We appreciate your thought and hard work.

Great location, off the beaten track just as required. Tranquil and rural, and nice to meet your aerobatic swifts!

We steered clear of the busier resorts but enjoyed Keri (lighthouse) and Keri Beach, Porto St Nicholas (cheapest shipwreck and Blue Cave cruise + the excellent fish tavern at the beach); Kampi for the sunsets (Cross Taverna was ok but the one before is friendlier and better.)

Agios Leon was a friendly base with helpful garage + Selena Taverna highly recommended - we were well looked after there on 3 evening occasions.

We were surprised the Mill Tavern up the road was closed as was Porto Limnionas Tavern - too early in the season? Do not miss GIRI!!

All in all a fun relaxing week!

      Slainte mhath for Scotland

We have had a great time on this beautiful island. We were able to visit most places in one week. The villa is beautiful, peaceful location and a great base to explore from.

Some really lovely beaches and caves to the north of the island. Make sure to stop at the roadside markets/stalls, lovely homemade produce ie. olive oil, honey, wine, olive paste, herbs, rugs

Lagonas is nice but a bit too rowdy for us, the right-hand side of the beach is more peaceful, we had a lovely meal at Mambos, really nice hosts, well recommended.

Make sure to visit Lady at the Bell Tower at Kiliomenos, her wine is beautiful and good price.

Voula is an excellent host, villa is clean and well looked after, big thank you to Victoria for daily maid service.

      Stunning!

We stayed in Isabella for one week and it was stunning! The location is perfect, we managed to see and do everything we had planned as well as find time to soak up the sun by the beautiful pool.

In our opinion, Lidl is not worth it, the food market opposite was much better. It had a butcher who minced some steaks fresh for us to make homemade burgers and a deli for all the cheese and meats. It also sold some imported products and we were pleased to get hold of some of these things e.g. Corona Beers.

Grampsas Vineyard was beautiful, only 15 mins from here in Lagapodo, we stocked up on wine for our week here and had a beautiful afternoon in the process, they even brought out a mezze board FOC while we enjoyed a bottle waiting for our taxi. We hired a boat from Keri beach, after some research we chose Big Blue who were fantastic. We didn’t spot any turtles, so he took us back out FOC to make sure we saw some, it was incredible!

We visited the viewing point of shipwreck beach which was also stunning, a memory worth having. We didn’t take the boat over as we had heard of the sea sickness, so didn’t want to risk it.

Selene Taverna in Agios Leon deleivers here to the village, great food, particularly the Mediterranean pizza!

We watched the sunset at Michalis Taverna in Kambi, the setting was great but we were not so impressed with the food. Having later discovered the Taverna at Porto Limnionas just 5 minutes from Agios Leon we wished we had gone here, however we cannot recommend the food as we only had a coffee.

Voula is fantastic and couldn’t do anymore to make our holiday fantastic, the cleaner Victoria was also great and kept our villa spotless.

We had the most perfect week and are already discussing when we can come back.

      Wonderful Two Week Holiday

We have had a truly wonderful two week holiday here in Zakynthos. First visit here and we were not disappointed.

Victoria has been outstanding visiting every day to clean and tidy. Voula and Peppos have been very helpful and their attention to detail and ensuring we had a wonderful stay. Agios Leon – Selene Taverna makes fab homemade pizza.

Porto Limnionas – cliff diving, taverna, sunbeds, highly recommend – great fun. Hire a boat Keri beach Captain’s Boat hire - €70 plus fuel for the day. Turtle spotting, picnic, diving from the boat. Visit Shipwreck Bay – Porto Vromi €15 each for 3 hours – great view, well worth it – get an hour on the beach – then in and out of the caves on the return journey.

Porto Schiza couple of Taverna where you can watch the sunset.

There is a small supermarket in Agior Leon, very basis behind the Taverna - ask for wine and the shopkeeper will produce €2 in a water bottle!!! No ATMs locally however cashback available at the petrol station.

For a truly authentic greek experience do go to the vineyard Kiliomenas 'Ampelostrates Horese Vineyard', where Adonis and family have farmed for 50 plus years. The food is outstanding and you may be taken to visit the wine celler if you are lucky. This is an evening not to be missed. Use Google Maps before setting out, it’s a little tricky to find.

      We would come back again.

      A Most Relaxing Week

We have had a most relaxing week here. On arrival we received a warm welcome from the on site staff. Victoria kept the villa immaculate all week.

We have been out most days exploring the island. Keri was our favourite resort. There are some good taverna's on the seafront. We did the turtle watching and caves boat trip which leaves at 1215pm and returns at 2.30pm (€15 each), very good.

Saturday 'Porto Limnionas' beautiful views, very impressed we will return.

    • Mrs Ridgeway, May 2016

      Very Peaceful

Villa location is very peaceful - lovely valley. We enjoyed exploring the island and did some lovely walks also.

We would recommend The Mill (just up the road) The Cross (best sunset!) and The Ionian tavernas for eating, but everyone provides you with a hearty meal. We did enjoy our food!

Villa and pool were to a very high standard - very clean and well maintained. Agios Legion is perfect for getting away from the crowds - amazing views - plus bakery, excellent taverna and small shop. Although you will do a lot of driving to get to the resorts - the scenery more than makes up for it. Thoroughly recommend this holiday.

The owner of the villa was very helpful, I had a wonderful holiday, loved the villa and the remoteness although a Taverna was just down the road and the village of Agios Leon has everything you need and the locals are lovely, the food in the tavernas in the area is 5 star. The Villa was very clean and the kids and myself enjoyed the pool!! of course the weather was fantastic!! Thank you

This was our honeymoon and therefore my expectations were high. It would have been good if the villa we saw in the photos was actually the villa we ended up with. I don't believe the photos provided are of the villa we stayed in, I believe it is one of the other villas in the resort of four or five, so this was extremely misleading.
Very limited hot water, considering this is a property for six people and there were only two of us I don't think the solar panels heated enough water when each of us showered once a day and we had some washing up to do.
There was also a cockerel one site near the villa and it was up at 3am every day crowing, extremely frustrating and made it not a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.
We booked early and got the free car hire, two days into the trip the engine management light came on so we took it back to Enterprise, and the man said no it's fine don't worry, so we spent the remainder of the trip concerned about whether the car was going to break down! No offer of an exchange and we were anxious that we might end up stranded on the island far from the villa with little to no help.
Overall a real shame compared to our trip to Periana with you in June 2013.

This is a beautiful location and the villa is perfect for a family holiday. We came with our teenage children (15, 17 and 19)and had a fabulous time. There is so much to do in the area with Porto Roxa for cliff jumping, Porto Vromi for boat trips and Agios Leon for the perfect evening meal at Selene. We left with so much more still to discover!
The Villa was excellent and exactly as the other reviews and photos showed it to be. Voula, Peppos, Isabella and Victoria work hard to make your stay perfect. We loved playing in the pool, laying on the sun-loungers reading books, eating a leisurely meal and watching the sunset.
The pool table and table tennis tables were an added bonus. Additionally, my husband and I enjoyed walking into the local village each morning to get fresh bread, croissants and stop for a coffee.

Whilst this is not marketed as a James "luxury" villa, we felt it was really well managed by the owners. One of the best we've stayed at. We appreciated the surprise welcome pack and the daily house-keeping from the excellent Victoria. e found everything we needed and nothing was too much trouble. The villa location is quiet and rural whilst being central for touring the island. The local village of Agios Leon feels like real Greece with a good village focal point taverna and friendly garage. Well done Peppos and Voula!!!!
