Zakynthos - a Greek Island rich in natural beauty - offers a fantastic setting for a villa holiday. Its impressive, long sandy beaches and crystal waters - some home to nesting sea turtles - are beautifully contrasted with traditional stone-clad villages hidden in the pine covered mountains. The animated beach resorts on Zakynthos found along the southern and eastern coastlines offer an array of restaurants, bars and watersports. Meanwhile in the west, spectacular sea caves and peaceful coves are surrounded by dramatic cliffs to offer tranquillity and seclusion.
Named the ‘Flower of the East’ by the Venetians who once inhabited it, Zakynthos is an island beauty treasured throughout its rich history. Now it’s one of Greece’s most prized holiday destinations, and with our Zakynthos villas found throughout the island, it could soon be yours too.
Leisure pursuits, including cycling, hiking, horseback riding and nature trails, offer wonderful ways to enjoy the changeable Zakynthos landscape – from its rolling hills and olive groves to scented citrus orchards. A divers’ paradise, this Greek Island has an underwater world well worthy of exploration. On land, in between the sharp-edged rocks and protected white sandy beaches, you can watch the famous sea-turtles, native to Zakynthos, find refuge to reproduce. Paragliding, banana rides, pedalos and canoes are also available to help you cool off on your villa holiday in the dazzling sun.
Modern amenities are a feature of this Greek Island, but a long history steeped in tradition is also waiting to be discovered in Zakynthos. Beautiful orthodox churches, archaeological sites and Venetian castle ruins are dotted all around. Quiet villages and traditional stone houses line narrow streets, often perched in the mountains. Museums celebrate the Byzantine era and Greek literary works. Baroque and Renaissance architecture is also found all over Zakynthos, proudly maintained by its Greek Island native inhabitants.
The superb beaches of Zakynthos are famed for their natural, unspoilt beauty, fine white volcanic sand and turquoise waters. A Greek Island full of coastline variations, you’ll find rugged natural beaches nestled in rocky formations and little private, pine-clad islets for total seclusion. To protect the habitat of the endangered sea-turtle, many bays forbid building work and nightlife. Sunbeds and parasols can be found in most villa holiday resorts, alongside a wide variety of watersports facilities, snack bars and tavernas.
Zakynthos has a great variety of night-time entertainment with something to suit every taste. In early evening, bars and outside terraces offer magnificent views out to sea – best enjoyed over a soothing cocktail. Later on, the livelier atmosphere and faster tempo found in Zakynthos is perfect for dancing into the early hours. Traditional tavernas and nightspots are found in smaller resorts, with amenities that appeal to all ages. Live music, cabaret and authentic Greek dancing are among the best attractions.

The villa and it’s beautiful country location but only a short drive to/from the airport. There are Tavernas and supermarket close by. There are plenty of bars and tavernas in Tsilivi for nightlife a short drive away but we chose not to go to them.
Tsilivi and it’s beaches too busy and organised for us, we preferred to stay in the luxury of the villa.

Hiring a boat for the day to see some of the coastal sights, relaxing on the beach.
Not enough sandy beaches especially within walking distance as a very rocky area. The bins are not emptied enough and you can some nasty smells from the overflowing bins

Friendly people everywhere, beautiful countryside, quiet in Agios Leon. No nightlife there!
Rubbish collection problems persist outside towns, bad smells! Not a problem at our villa. Sadly the best beaches are generally in tourist trap towns.

Aghia marina and the restaurant at the top of the village. Excellent food and service
Was quite disappointed with zante as a whole because it didn’t appear to have the cleanliness that other greek islands have. Full and overflowing dustbins on many roads with old mattresses and old doors around them and the detritus that had overflowed. It would appear the infrastructure needs investment. May go again but not for a while which is a shame because the villa was amazing
