Zakynthos - A Grecian piece of paradise

Zakynthos - a Greek Island rich in natural beauty - offers a fantastic setting for a villa holiday. Agios Leon

The west coast of Zakynthos is a wilder more unspoilt coastline, with bays and coves scattered along the rugged landscape. Agios Leon is a traditional inland countryside village untouched by tourism and retains many of the traditions of the island. The whitewashed buildings have colourful red tiled roofs, while the beautiful cliff-lined coast with stunning views out to sea is fantastic to explore. Port Limnionas is a ten minute drive, this wonderful natural bay has crystal clear waters that are a a brilliant aquamarine blue and fascinating sea caves under the white cliff face. Throw in some dramatic scenery and a couple of tavernas and discover why a days' snorkelling is a popular pastime. Also close by are the green and mountainous villages of Loyha and Gyri. For those wanting to experience the authentic Zakynthian lifestyle, Agios Leon is the perfect retreat.

Vassilikos

In Vassilikos, a traditional and untouched area, you’ll find a small selection of shops and tavernas scattered among orchards and lush farmland. The charming and natural beaches here are favoured by local people and the chic, stylish beaches are loved by both the locals and the Italians who flock here each summer. There are a further three villas closer to the cosmopolitan resort of Argassi if you want to be a little closer to the action.

Agios Nikolaos

Situated on the north-eastern coast of Zakynthos, this charming, tiny harbour is the gateway to 'Shipwreck Bay' and the 'Blue Caves', where the majority of the little boats motor round to view these fantastic sights. Agios Nikolaos enjoys a small selection of cafes/tavernas that sit along the sea front as well as some lovely beaches and coves. Set a long the coast road that leads south, you will come across many little bays and coves - some enjoying great beach bars and tavernas.

Akrotiri

The traditional, picturesque village of Akrotiri is superbly situated on a hillside, enjoying amazing panoramic views over the Ionian Sea. The area is one of great natural beauty which has inspired Greek poets through the years and it is easy to see why many of the island’s nobles built their homes here. Three kilometres from the heart of Zakynthos Town, the village is secluded enough to offer a quiet, scenic stay, but close enough to town and the beach at Tsilivi to ensure a holiday with something for everyone.

Beloussi

The traditional coastal village of Beloussi enjoys an idyllic setting surrounded by rural landscape. Beloussi remains largely untouched by tourism and true to its Greek traditions – a great place to enjoy a relaxed and authentic villa holiday. A short drive away is the larger resort of Tsilivi which offers a long sandy beach as well as facilities that include bars, restaurants and shops. If you’re looking for some entertainment, this is the place to spend an evening as the town offers a range of modern and traditional entertainment. Zakynthos is best explored by car, and you’ll love spending days out discovering the landscape and various resorts of the coast.

Tsilivi

The wonderful long sandy beach with its clear shallow waters at Tsilivi is perfect for families, whether you’re interested in paddling or parasailing. A good selection of restaurants, bars, tavernas and shops are available within the resort, offering both modern and traditional entertainment from cabaret to karaoke. You’ll find some of our villas set on a hillside just outside the main town area, surrounded by olive trees and citrus groves with fantastic views out to sea.

Keri

Set on the southern tip of the island, this quaint little coastal resort boasts scenic surroundings from dramatic olive tree-covered hillsides to enchanting cliff faces. Keri is renowned on the island for many reasons - however, two of the more popular aspects are the wonderful sea caves which can be found a short boat journey from the resort, as well as the largest Greek flag in the world, which flies on top of the cliffside close to the resort. The coastal resort of Keri offers a good selection of tavernas, shops and beaches and provides an ideal holiday location for those wishing to relax and enjoy the resorts amenities and surrounding area.

Lithakia

Just south of bustling Laganas, one of the largest and liveliest resorts on the island, Lithakia has remained refreshingly localised. A few tavernas and shops can be found close by, and a long sandy beach with crystal clear and shallow waters is just a five minute drive away. Surrounded by olive groves, our villas are set in the countryside just outside the village, and within easy reach of the serene Lake Keri, with its picturesque tavernas and boat trips to the caves.

Tragaki

This quiet village sits amid attractive scenery of olive trees and vineyards, next to Tsilivi Bay. Tragaki is located on the north side of Kavelaris Hill and offers fantastic views over the glittering waters of the Ionian Sea. A picturesque little harbour houses local fishing boats which arrive each morning with the catch of the day. A number of great beaches are nearby, in particular, sandy Plagos Beach, a curved beach with shallow waters, great for families, and watersports facilities are also available locally. The neighbouring resort of Tsilivi is just a short drive away, offering a range of tavernas and bars, whilst the island’s capital Zakynthos Town is just seven kilometres away.

Agios Dimitrios

Situated close to the centre of the island and only 7km from Alikanas, this serene and sleepy countryside village, is surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and farmland. A few local amenities can be found scattered around the village in including a bar, and a tavern, whilst the main amenities and sandy beach can be found in Alikanas. Agios Dimitrios is located in a perfect place to explore the whole the island, with Agios Nikoloas in the north being found within a 40 minute drive, Zakynthos Town within a 20 minute drive and Keri in the far south reached within 30 minutes.

Kipseli

Situated close to the sea, on the east coast of the island near to the resorts of Tragaki and Tsilivi, sits the small sleepy village of Kipseli. The village is set amongst olive trees and farmland producing a variety of fruits and vegetables to the surrounding areas; whilst on the outskirts of the village, Kipseli backs onto the beautiful, sparkeling crystal clear waters of the Ionian Sea.

Laganas

Boasting a vibrant nightlife, gorgeous beach with crystal clear waters and surrounded by stunning landscapes, the bustling town of Laganas is well known for its lively atmosphere and party scene. The picturesque golden sands are the nesting home for the loggerhead turtle, so to avoid disturbing these adorable creatures there are no water sports available here, however you can still find lots of lively beach bars, restaurants and shops to keep everyone entertained from dawn to dusk!

Macherado

Situated in-land, Macherado is a rural village surrounded by vineyards and centred around the production of local wine. Slightly off the beaten track, here you can relax and discover the traditional Greek way of living with a handful of bars and restaurants serving local dishes. For a different experience, visit the harbour front restaurants in Zakynthos town or the beaches and bars of Laganas can all be reached within a fifteen minute drive.

Vanato

Vanato is a very small and traditional village centrally located on the island of Zakynthos and in a convenient location to the airport, making it the perfect base from which to enjoy a relaxing holiday and to discover some of the larger resorts as well. Both the lively beach resort of Tsilivi and the pretty harbour front town of Zakynthos can be reached within a ten minute drive.

Volimes

The charming, country village of Volimes is situated in the mountainous northern part of the island, which represents a great starting point to explore the wonders that this area has to offer. The area is well known for is vast olive groves, local farms, pine forests along with being close to the infamous Shipwreck Bay, which can only be viewed from the cliffs above. Volimes itself offers a variety of local amenities including several tavernas, mini-markets and some shops. The nearest easy accessible beaches are found on the east coast, just a 15-20 minute drive away. Volimes is a perfect location for those looking to experience the authentic Zakynthian lifestyle.

A Greek Island full of coastline variations, you’ll find rugged natural beaches nestled in rocky formations and little private, pine-clad islets for total seclusion.
