A very pretty village, Koskinou is nestled between Rhodes Town in the north and Faliraki and Lindos further south. Set off the main coastal road, this sheltered village has a good choice of shops and restaurants . Leaving the car in the car park, it is time to explore: behind the more bland modern part of the village hides the traditional heart of Koskinou, and you immediately notice on walking the narrow backstreets the vivid reds, blues yellows and greens of the doors and the facades of the typical Dodecanese style architecture. Wonderful examples of local masons and carpenters the doors are made of wood or iron with carved or etched designs, surrounded by fine stone porches with arches across the door-posts . Hidden behind the courtyard doors lies a glimpse of a timeless charm and beauty, some decorated with ceramic plates or woven fabrics.
