Rhodes - A historical legacy and charm like no other

Gennadi was once a tiny fishing hamlet with a large stretch of sandy beach below it, and it has gradually developed into a larger, cosy village,whilst the beach remains one of its strongest attractions. The unspoilt atmosphere of the close knit community provides a peaceful, friendly base from which to explore the southern part of Rhodes. The traditional Greek village has a collection of shops, bars and tavernas with the even smaller village of Lahania a five minute drive away, and glorious Prasonissi beach at the southern most tip of the island. Nearby, Lindos is a 30 minute drive with its ancient acropolis and medieval castle sitting atop the hill, white washed buildings and picturesque cobbled streets.

Nestled between Lindos and Lardos, the cosmopolitan resort of Pefkos is a favourite destination of many visitors to the island. The charming village with its long sandy beach is completely surrounded by pine tree-covered hills, vineyards, olive and fig trees which fill the air with an incredible fragrant scent. St. Nicolas Bay

St Nicolas Bay is the next bay round to the south of Lindos, and boasts a dramatic backdrop of rocky hillsides and mountains. The southern most cliff face of this delightful bay is famed for being used in the 1961 classic Second World War film 'The Guns of the Navarone'. Set just on the outskirts of Lindos, this ideal location is convenient for those wishing to be close to the fabulous white sugar-cubed resort, beaming with its unique culture, whilst also being within easy reach to explore the east coast's bays, coves and inland traditional villages.

This small, scenic port is located on the idyllic and unspoilt west coast of Rhodes. Fanes boasts a charming and traditional character and is the perfect location if you want to sample a taste of the real Greece. The village features a lovely little beach with windsurfing and kite-surfing facilities, and a small harbour filled with yachts and fishing boats. Just a short distance away is the quiet and laid back town of Tholos (or Theologos) – a typical Greek town with tavernas, bars and restaurants. You can expect a warm welcome from local people here. The old town offers historic buildings amongst its narrow winding streets including the church of Agios Spiradonas, with its lovely bell tower. Tholos also boasts an excellent beach. For days out, the historic Temple of Apollo is just 10 minutes’ drive away from Fanes, whilst bustling Rhodes Town is just 25 minutes away by car.

This quiet family orientated resort has a splendid blue flag sandy beach 1km long situated between Faliraki and Lindos. Approached by a eucalyptus tree lined road, this discreet coastal resort offers relaxing holidays with a good choice of cafes, restaurants and bars. Great for snorkelling this is mainly a beach resort with Archangelos a small market village nearby for shopping and souvenirs. Further back from the beach is the delightful Seven Springs region which account for the area being very green.

One of the many benefits of staying in Rhodes town, is the easy accessibility to the vast selection of excellent Greek Tavernas and restaurants located in Rhodes Town, ranging from numerous tasty souvlaki shops, to sophisticated fish restaurants, there is something to stimulate the taste buds of all the family.

Tsambika boasts one of the most beautiful beaches on Rhodes, with a long stretch of golden sand and various tavernas, bars and the beach sports centre. Just four kilometres away, our villas are set off the beaten track in beautiful countryside amidst pine and olive groves, each offering spectacular sea and mountain vistas. Many visitors come to swim in the crystal-clear waters and to admire the imposing rock and Monastery of the Virgin of Tsambika from which the beach has taken its name.

Afandou is a bustling village offering a good selection of bars, restaurants, supermarkets, and a long stretch of beach; several sections of which have been awarded a Blue Flag for cleanliness. Most of the beach is well equipped with sun beds, umbrellas and even a few water sports facilities, and the calm, shallow waters makes Afandou an ideal holiday resort for families. Another attraction during the summer season is a miniature train which makes regular runs from the main square to the village and the beach. Afandou also features a fantastic 18-hole golf course, overlooking the sea, designed by famous British architect Donald Harradine. Holiday makers based here are superbly located for exploring Rhodes; just a short drive from the waterpark and other attractions of Faliraki, and about 30 minutes from charming Rhodes Town.

Haraki is the perfect choice for those seeking tranquil evenings, its beautiful crescent shaped bay with a shingle stone beach has a good choice of several tavernas and bars surrounding the bay plus well stocked small supermarkets. The ruins of Feraklos Castle overlooks the village and is flood lit in the evenings, on the other side of the castle hill is Agathi, another small village which has a wonderful soft sand beach with shallow waters. Haraki is a superb location for exploring the island with Lindos only a 10 minute drive away and Tsambika, one of the most beautiful beaches on Rhodes is only 15 minutes away.
