Villas in Vathi

This tiny, picturesque harbour village is located on the north east coast of Meganissi within a sheltered inlet. A low key, laid back atmosphere can be enjoyed here, and the village remains wonderfully traditional. Shops selling local crafts can be found throughout the little streets, whilst a few traditional waterfront tavernas are located along the harbour where you can relax with a meal and watch the fishing boats come and go. Vathi is also popular with visiting yachts, and a new harbour has been recently built a little further round the bay. Ferries to the nearby resort of Spartochori and the island of Lefkas also departs from Vathi. The resort is surrounded by forests of olive and cypress trees, offering plenty of great scenery in which to enjoy relaxing walks. Various rocky and pebble beaches can also be reached within just a short drive.

Food & Dining

Food and dining at Vathi

In the three main villages are a few traditional tavernas serving a variety of home cooked dishes. It is a good idea to go into the kitchen when invited, have a good look at what is on offer and point to the dishes that appeal. Vegetarian dishes are usually on offer, along with grilled meat and fish and a dish of the day, not forgetting the popular Greek salad is always to hand. Local wines, beers and ouzo are great to accompany it all, whilst many of the local restaurants offer a fresh fruit dish, or a sticky pastry to round it off.
