Northamptonshire Family (the eldest child is at school)
- The villa's interior was clean & tidy, although the décor & furnishings are rather dated. The swimming pool was tired and dirty. There was a line of dirt around the pool's edge which really just need to be scoured away. It made all of our pool floats dirty. There maybe a problem with the pump? The metal steps leading into the pool are rusty and rather wobbly, not enjoyable getting in and out. The sunbeds are old and need replacing. There were 2 parasols, one of which was completely broken and the other was meant to be used at a table and so therefore would not stay up if there was a slight breeze. Considering this is a villa for up to 6 people, there really should be at least 3 working umbrellas. The temperature in August is so high and struggling to find some shade was impossible. The pool wasn't cleaned during our week stay, they arrived just as we were leaving on our last day. The standard of cleaning we witnessed by the pool maintenance staff was extremely poor.
The bedrooms were all clean and tidy as were the bathrooms. The kitchen again is very dated although it was clean. However we were disappointed that some kitchen essentials were not provided as we had to buy tea towels, washing up brush, bin bags etc along with numerous other things that you would need for a weeks self catering. The fridge needs replacing. Drinks were never chilled even after several days in the fridge. The saucepans and baking trays were very old and no amount of cleaning is going to improve them. The oven and hob worked fine, didn't use the dishwasher or microwave.
Overall to sum up, this could be a really lovely property if someone were to spend a little money bringing it up to date . The pool which should be the star of the show was a real let down. Unfortunately therefore, I would not recommend this villa.
