Istrian cuisine is very natural and simple, taking key ingredients fresh from the land and sea. If you want to sample something truly Istrian, try the prsut – a cured ham which all Istrian’s are proud of. The seafood is always fresh and delicious, and sample something rare and native – the Istrian truffle – usually used to flavour pasta and meat.

Vrsar is a harbour town with a spotless 200 berth marina. From here, various boat trips can be taken around the Vrsar archipelago of islands and even a day trip to Venice, Italy!

Once a month during April to September, the town promenade hosts fishermen festivals to honour fishermen and celebrate their catches. At this time, try sea fruits from the crystal clear Adriatic Sea, let locals teach you the secrets of successful fishing, and with a glass of Istrian Malvazija, enjoy some live music.
