Istrian cuisine is very natural and simple, taking key ingredients fresh from the land and sea. If you want to sample something truly Istrian, try the prsut – a cured ham which all Istrian’s are proud of. The seafood is always fresh and delicious, and sample something rare and native – the Istrian truffle – usually used to flavour pasta and meat.

Lim Bay, one of the most beautiful natural resources of the Istrian peninsula. Also known under the name of the Lim channel or the Lim fiord. The estuary is rich in fish, and high quality oysters and mussels because of the special conditions of the sea water in the channel. From both sides very steep mountains rise, in some parts even up to 100 meters. There are two sea food restaurants there which are well worth the visit for lovers of sea food.
Located between Buje and Novigrad is an award-winning waterpark, with pools, flumes, entertainment and eateries. A fun day in the sunshine for all the family.
Svetvincenat is very central within the Istrian region of Croatia, and so makes a perfect base for those who wish to explore other towns. It is situated between Buje and Pula, as well as being just a thirty minute drive from the charming coastal resorts of Porec, Vrsar and Rovinj.
There is a delightful square in the middle of Svetvincenat named ‘Renaissance Square’, located by the castle gate and featuring a well from the 1800s.

Grimani Castle is possibly Svetvincenat’s most famous attribute and Istria’s best preserved castle. Originally owned by bishops from Porec, the castle is a rectangle fortress with four towers and a protective wall standing at ten metres high.
