Istrian cuisine is very natural and simple, taking key ingredients fresh from the land and sea. Around Porec, many dishes are prepared with the local wild plants, wine, vinegar and olive oil. If you want to sample something truly Istrian, try the prsut – a cured ham which all Istrian’s are proud of. The seafood is always fresh and delicious, and sample something rare and native – the Istrian truffle – usually used to flavour pasta and meat.
