This typical Istrian town is set on a hill above the fishing village of Rabac on the south east of the peninsula. The area is a haven for history and art lovers with its rich cultural and architectural heritage. During the summer, various jazz and classical music festivals take place in the town. Take a stroll through the streets of the old town and you will find palaces decorated in a rennaissence style, as well as baroque facades. Labin has many coffee shops dotted throughout the winding streets where locals and visitors alike spend hours chatting and soaking up the atmosphere. The town is also home to several great seafood restaurants, with much local produce on offer, freshly caught from the blue waters of the Adriatic Sea.

Istrian cuisine is very natural and simple, taking key ingredients fresh from the land and sea. If you want to sample something truly Istrian, try the prsut – a cured ham which all Istrian’s are proud of. The seafood is always fresh and delicious, and sample something rare and native – the Istrian truffle – usually used to flavour pasta and meat. There are a few cafes and restaurants in Labin and Rabac and some good pizzerias.
Labin's old town oozes a romantic atmosphere in the evenings, where you can take a stroll through the streets and choose a cafe or bar to settle for some local food. There are further places to dine and spend your evening at the seaside town of Rabac, a ten minute drive away.

Dubrova Sculpture Park is just 3 km away and features over 70 interesting outdoor sculptures.
Istralandia, located between Buje and Novigrad is an award-winning waterpark, with pools, flumes, entertainment and eateries. A fun day in the sunshine for all the family.
Rabac is ten minutes drive by car and very closely linked with Labin. Here you find the closest beach, as well as a few eateries and boat trips.
Labin is split into two sections - the new part and the old town. The old town is home to the art gallery, churches and an interesting plaza, bustling with locals making the most of the cafe culture.
There are two churches within the town walls of Labin - The Church of Virgin Mary’s Birth and St. Stephen Church.
Find the fortress or 'Fortica', in amongst the winding streets, where you can climb to the top for views to the resort of Rabac.
The town has an interesting mix of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture, noticable in it's buildings and churches.
