Villas in Groznjan

The enchanting town of Groznjan is set high on a terraced hill of vineyards and olive gardens, overlooking villages and surrounding countryside. Classical concerts, art exhibitions and jazz festivals are hosted here, bringing this peaceful little town to life. It is also famous for local wines, home-made cheeses, prosciutto, barbecued meats, and of course truffles, all of which can be sampled in restaurants within the many villages and towns of the area. The town of Buje, approximately 8km away, has a wider choice of bars and restaurants, historical landmarks, and local attractions, and the main coastal resorts of Umag, Pula and Porec offer good nightlife, bars and restaurants.

    Food & Dining

    Istrian cuisine is very natural and simple, taking key ingredients fresh from the land and sea. If you want to sample something truly Istrian, try the prsut – a cured ham which all Istrian’s are proud of. The seafood is always fresh and delicious, and sample something rare and native – the Istrian truffle – usually used to flavour pasta and meat.

    Groznjan comes alive in the summer, with frequent live performances filling the centre stage in the pretty town with music and festivity. Local artists and musicians fill the cobble streets between July and September.

    Vineyards

    Franc Arman Vineyards and Winery, on the Narduci estate is a family run winery passed down through the generations. Established in the mid-1800s and set on twenty acres, they produce several types of grape and offer a wine tasting service.

    Water Parks

    Istralandia, located between Buje and Novigrad is an award-winning waterpark, with pools, flumes, entertainment and eateries. A fun day in the sunshine for all the family.

    Regions to visit

    The larger town of Buje is reachable in a 15 minute drive for more variety in shopping and dining out. The bustling seaside town of Umag and it's beaches are half an hour away in the car.
