During the 6th – 7th century in the area of Pucisca early Christian churches, basilicas and monasteries were built. Today these sacral buildings are open to visitors including Church of Stephen; the parish church of the Virgin Mary built in 1482, Church of St. George considered to be a trademark in Pucišca which was renewed in 1563 and Church of St. Jerolime built in 1576.
Pucišca has always been known for its culture of stone masonry which has contributed to the development of the town. Many prominent buildings in Croatia were built from Brac stone, as was The White House in Washington. Today, the continuation of the masons’ tradition is guaranteed by the Stone Mason School situated in the town.

International summer music school Pucišca is one of the longest summer traditions on Brac. The centre of Pucišca is filled with music throughout July and August. Music courses are held for a range of music genres including classical, jazz, pop and rock. During this time many concerts are held by attendants, professors and other musicians.
