The flights are booked, your villa is waiting, now it’s time to fill your holiday itinerary…
Romantic strolls along the beach and pool days are a must, but how about going on an adventure? Whether you’re a pair of daredevils or you fancy a more chilled day out, you’ll find a great mix of activities across our destinations to get your hearts racing. From instructor-led fun for all, to slower activities just for two, we have some unique experiences perfect for pairs.
Algarve coast exploration
Jump into a new challenge and try your hand at Coasteering in the Algarve. A thrilling coastal experience, it’ll have you scrambling up rocks, jumping from cliffs, and exploring secret sea caves and passages. Lying between Sagres and Lagos, the magnificent Natural Park of Costa Vicentina will be your playground for the day. When you’re ready to dive in, your instructor will kit you out in all the necessary gear and after a safety briefing you’ll make your way out to sea. Taking videos and photos is encouraged so bring along your GoPro to capture the excitement (and the outfits!). Nothing screams ‘romantic getaway’ quite like a day in a wetsuit and helmet!
The whole excursion will take around three hours so there’s plenty of time to pluck up courage and try more daring jumps as you make your way around. Book as a couple or join a larger group – either way it’s a great way to test both your limits.
Nature trails in Cyprus
If heights aren’t for you, keep your feet on the ground and follow one of the Troodos Mountains’ geological trails. With 10 different routes of various lengths, you can choose one that best suits your level of activity. This mountain range is a result of tectonic plates colliding many, many years ago forcing the oceanic crust into the formation we see today. Mount Olympus now stands at 1952m high. Rocks, waterfalls, rare flora and fauna, and many other geological examples are dotted throughout these trails telling the Cyprus‘ history.
And what’s more romantic than a great view? See if you can spot Limassol, Paphos and Nicosia as you trek along the trails. Put your hiking shoes on, pack a picnic and weave your way around these impressive hills.
Abseil Lanzarote’s dam
For something a little drier, northern Lanzarote offers an experience like no other. Not only does the Presa del Mala dam play an important part in the island’s water supply but this 1.1 million cubic metre slab of concrete is a daredevil’s playground.
Under the watchful eye of your guide get hooked up and abseil down the dam’s edge. Feeling brave? Why not let go of the ropes, lean back on your harness and take in the views as you make your way down. Once you’re at the bottom you’ll be raring to do it all over again.
Mallorca on two wheels
Mallorca has infinite routes for you to master on two wheels. From beginners to seasoned pros, cyclists just love this island. Rocky climbs, leisurely sea views and family friendly routes can be found all around.
Looking for a full day of riding? Cycle the flat 40km Llucmajor loop which takes you past orange groves and traditional Mallorcan fincas. For a more chilled back ride head to Alcudia. You’ll find the promenade filled with cyclists taking a break from their bikes.
You can rent bikes in all the main towns and if you’re lucky a tandem could be on offer for a romantic ride for two.
A round or two on the Silver Coast
Switch tea time for tee time at one of the Silver Coast’s amazing golf courses. Rolling sand dunes, green pine forests and uninterrupted sea views set the scene on the Praia D’el Rey golf course.
A day on the green here will have you breathing in the fresh sea air as you take on the 73 par course. If golfing is not for both of you (and you don’t want to take up the role of caddie), the beach is just a stone’s throw away. It really is the best of both worlds.
