The town is great for absorbing the laid-back rural way of life, and the weekly market is well-worth a visit to meet the locals and to try some of the delicious local cheeses, meats and vegetables. A variety of facilities are located within the town, including two supermarkets. The surrounding area boasts beautiful countryside and forests, interspersed with many impressive Romanesque châteaux, perfect for a day out exploring. Our villa is located within the peaceful hamlet of Courbortige, just a few minutes’ drive from the centre of Melle.
