Resort: Ullignano in Tuscany
This small, rural village is set amid beautiful Tuscan countryside not far from the historic towns of San Gimignano and Volterra. Ulignano is the ideal base for an idyllic, authentic holiday – as well as offering a great base from which to tour the area. San Gimignano is a simply beautiful town, best known for the thirteen stone towers that dominate the skyline. The Torre Grosso is the highest, and spectacular views can be enjoyed from the top. Volterra is a historic hilltop town, surrounded by majestic valleys and hills of typical Tuscan countryside. The world-renowned vineyards of the Chianti wine region are also nearby, where you can learn more about how the wine is made and maybe even take home a bottle or two as a great souvenir of the area.
