Turkey 'a popular destination'
A Turkey villa holiday may appeal to families looking to save money on their vacation this summer.
According to a report in the Daily Mirror, the country has become increasingly appealing to British tourists in recent years.
It is thought this is likely to be due in part to its position outside of the eurozone, which means the nation is unaffected by the pound's falling strength against the euro.
Those considering a holiday in Turkey were advised to consider staying on the Lycian coast in the resort of Marmaris, which was described as "one of the most European" destinations in the region.
It is home to the country's largest marina and has plenty to keep individuals of all ages entertained.
"There's lots of opportunity to try out your bartering skills shopping at the Old Town's small bazaars which sell leather, jewellery and carpets," the news source stated.
Recent research from Sainsbury's Travel Insurance revealed 78 per cent of Brits will be looking to cut the costs of their next holiday, with last-minute trips a popular option.
