Explore the cultures of the world with holidays in Marseille

Cultures from various parts of the world can be explored from one region if people snap up villas in the south of France over the next few months.

Marseille is host to a trio of festivals between March and May which celebrate Russian, Chinese and French lifestyles.

The Russian Festival kicks off proceedings in March, with the city's Toursky Theatre presenting film, cabaret, exhibitions and plays all with themes relating back to the European nation and its former USSR leadership.

For holiday makers who would rather learn more about the south of France itself, the Marseille Carnival in April may be better suited.

Taking place in the Old Port of the resort, the attraction is highlighted by eye-catching floats from the eight neighbourhoods of Marseille passing through the area.

Brits are also in for a treat if they head to the south of France city in May, when the city celebrates National Qigong Day.

Presented by La Federation de Qigong et Arts Energetiques, the festival sees professionals showcasing the unique martial arts, while workshops and demos allow holiday makers to learn the moves themselves.
