Menorca 'offers diverse range of activities'
People holidaying at a cheap villa in Menorca are likely to have sun, sea and sand in mind when booking their trip.
However, according to Menorca's tourism authority, there is much more to the destination than a simple beach holiday.
Local tourism minister Lazaro Criado announced an initiative to highlight the wealth of things to do in Menorca, describing it as a "fantastic destination for everyone", Opodo Travel News reports.
"We … want to showcase the diverse experiences available on the island and the romantic qualities of its setting," he said.
As well has being ideal for a family holiday due to its safety, scenic beaches and "stunning" natural attractions, adventurous travellers can also embark on kayaking, surfing, cycling, walking and horse riding during a holiday to the Spanish island.
However, the majority of visitors to Menorca may want to spend their time relaxing on a beach, with a recent survey by TravelSupermarket revealing that 37 per cent of people want a trip abroad that involves plenty of sun, sea and sand.
