Family-friendly airports 'important for British holiday makers'

Brits heading on holidays to Italy villas in the coming months should be able to ease their way into their getaway if they manage to travel through family-friendly airports.

This is the opinion of travel journalist James Ellis, who acknowledged that this is because a travel hub filled with entertaining and useful facilities means that parents and kids are less likely to become stressed from flying.

He explained: "You need good information and decent facilities for families, baby changing facilities for those with younger kids are really important, soft play areas for kids of all ages, which some airports have, and things that would appeal to early teens as well like games rooms."

In order to ease the stress levels of being in an airport further, Mr Ellis advises Brits to look at the facilities of a travel hub prior to a holiday, so that amenities can be found without wasting loads of time.

His comments come soon after a Skyscanner study highlighted that Edinburgh Airport is the number one family-friendly airport in the UK, with Glasgow International Airport securing second spot.
