Adventurous travellers planning a Lanzarote villa holiday this year might be interested in visiting Timanfaya National Park, which has been described as one of the island's "greatest natural wonders".

Timanfaya is the most visited tourist attraction on Lanzarote, with nearly 900,000 people travelling to see its unique sights and landscapes every year.

Holiday makers planning to visit the site during a Lanzarote villa break this year can now prepare for their excursion by taking a virtual online tour of the area.

A 360 degree panorama of the park has been added to the Lanzarote Guidebook website, allowing users to see the spectacular terrain that resulted from volcanic eruptions hundreds of years ago.

Nick Ball, editor of the site, said: "The Timanfaya Volcano Park is one of Lanzarote's greatest natural wonders and features high on the itineraries of most visitors to the island.

"Our new interactive tour gives everyone the chance to explore this fascinating region and we plan to add more 360 panoramic shots of other key attractions on the island on an ongoing basis."

Accommodation options for people planning a Lanzarote holiday this year include Puerto Calero villas and luxury properties in locations such as Oasis de Nazaret and Costa Teguise.
