Take up holidays in Florida to celebrate the Conch Republic

When it comes to indulging in fun-filled activities while enjoying a holiday abroad this year, a stay in Florida villas could be the ideal choice for Brits.

Between April 20th and 29th this year, the Sunshine State's Key West resort will be marking the 30th anniversary since the formation of the Conch Republic.

Seen as being a lighthearted micronation in the region, the republic's foundations are honored with the Conch Republic Independence Celebration.

Holiday makers will be able to witness thrilling sea battles which are staged with tall ships during the occasion, as well as help out charity by being involved in the annual Conch Republic Red Ribbon Bed Race.

Furthermore, the World's Longest Parade which takes place during the event is aptly named, as it involves travelling from Duval Street in Key West along an Atlantic Ocean route towards the Gulf of Mexico.

Key West is not the only place around villas in Florida for entertaining attractions this year though, with Orlando celebrating the Cinco De Mayo festival and the Florida Juneteenth Music Festival in the early summer months.
