Tourist board 'working to improve Cyprus holiday market'
Industry leaders are currently working to boost the appeal of Cyprus holidays for the coming year, according to reports.
Alecos Orountiotis, chairman of the Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO), underlined the island's popularity as a travel destination and said that tour operators are expecting to maintain or increase visitor numbers this year.
One of the biggest boosts for the industry is expected to come in the summer when marinas and theme parks begin operating for the peak months, the Cyprus Mail reported.
People planning a Cyprus villa holiday will also find it easier to access the island, with new flights to Paphos set to be launched by two British carriers.
Mr Orountiotis revealed that easyJet will offer summer services from Bristol and Edinburgh to Paphos, while Jet2 will fly to the popular destination from East Midlands and Newcastle airports.
Paphos is located on Cyprus' scenic west coast, which is home to other coastal hotspots such as Pomos and Latchi.
Holiday makers can relax on some of the many beaches in the area or try out some of the local golf courses.
