See a European regatta on a Cyprus villa holiday

Sports fans planning a Cyprus villa holiday this spring will have the chance to see a high-profile event on the island.

The European Laser Masters Championship is a sailing contest that is held in a different country every year.

In 2010, the regatta will come to Limassol, providing some exciting entertainment for holiday makers planning to visit the tourist hotspot during a Cyprus villa break.

The event will run from April 24th to 30th, with the first two days reserved for registrations, measurements and practice races.

April 26th sees the competition get underway in earnest, with contests set to start at 11:00 local time each morning.

People who choose to visit Limassol during a Cyprus villa holiday can also see some local sights and landmarks, including a medieval castle that now serves as a museum and a public garden on the seafront road.

Local authorities are planning to build a new marina in the city that will include restaurants, clubs, entertainment facilities and more.
